A thread just started regarding Bush's plans to travel to Africa in the near future. I would love to know the exact dates.

Really though, I think it is all just a cover story so they can flex their prowess about actually shooting something down with the tech they spent billions of tax dollars on. "See, it does work." "Look how tough we are".

I don't know, all that sounds kind of fishy to me... I mean why do they spend millions of $$$ to shoot down a satellite when there would be only "mild effects" as the Wired article says? (And don't forget, they said if they don't succeed the first time, they will try, try again...)

I'm a big Web Bots fan and found it interesting to read the following today:

Urban Survival

The [expenditure/waste] of these resources will bring the common fellow to the conclusion that the [world/planet/rulers] have [gone mad]. It is this level of details which suggest that some of the [wandering cognitively disconnected mentally afflicted people], previously described in other parts of this and earlier ALTA series, will come about as a result of both [natural], and [artificial/created] circumstances. In the detail layers we note support for the [naturally broken minds] as well as for [machine crashed brains].

This last is repeatedly supported by lower layers of aspect/attribute sets going to the idea of a [military accident] in which [energies] will be [unleashed] that are described as [crashing/thrashing/mashing/pulverizing minds].

The details on the [military accident] show that it is not terrorism, but will rather be viewed as the "Bhopal" of the [military industrial complex].

Apparently the effects will be widespread, and devastating for any number of reasons. The soon to appear [tragedy] will *not* really be the result of the [specific circumstances] proffered after the incident, but rather is the predictable result of going down that particular path. In spite of the horrific nature of the damage inflicted, the result *will* have positive outcomes on millions of lives globally as the subsequent actions by those impacted will put an end to many such [bad paths] currently being followed.

In a way similar to the [veterans seize national monument] (*ahead this summer in modelspace - G) , this [military accident] will be able to be used as very large temporal marker for the manifestation of both the [revolution] meme out in the open here in the USofA, as well as the 'last act' of the 'illuminati'.

[Excerpt from www.halfpasthuman.com]

THAT sounds more like it... at least for the people who love a good conspiracy theory...

Heh, from what I've been reading, China and Russia both had a serious interest in capturing this satellite intact. That may explain really why the military decided to shoot it down, because there may be sensitive information on board.

This explanation also seems possible to me for another reason. Note the last sentence in that article, about Bush's "concern for human life."

If there was that serious a concern for human life, how does the few that might die on the ground compare to over 1 million killed in Iraq? This isn't about human life, imo. This is about covert intelligence.

it is not going to land it is going to crash , and it has been confirmed by my goverment in a recent press conference . It is supposed to crash somewhere arround the southern centre of our country.

The Us gov is supposed to try and shoot it down within the next 3 days (at least thats what we have been told durring the press conference) .

The destruction of this device will be preformed by a secret death ray. The purpose of doing this is to dissipate the plutonium in the fuel cell. People will die in a wide area rather than in a small area. Yes, you might die from it and you will never know why.

Can you find an online article from your country that would confirm this? Just asking as I haven't heard anything from you governments' perspective other than what you are claiming. Thanks so much, Thill.

Just a few questions buddy.
Ok...so what kind of death ray? Is this of the Tesla variety?
And how much Plutonium is up there right or needed to keep the electronics warm? Where did you get your info for your theories?
And are the deaths you refer to from a radioactive poisoning or cancers related to it?

So is it all over your news, at the mo. Who do they say worked out that it would crash in poland(if they do not destroy it with a missile or whatever), like you say. Do they say norad or something.

I have no evidence. Pure conjecture. I'm right about half the time. They will not state what danger there is so I imagine the worst. Not many people know that plutonium was not detectable in our atmosphere until we lost a fuel cell in the Challenger disaster.

WTF, like clockwork the public can no longer track it, the website appears to still be up but loads with all kinds of errors...I tried from 3 different computers in two locations 40 miles apart, no luck! Anyone else having problems with this site too, I had been using it for the previous week with no problems. Yesterday they make the announcement of intercept and today this, really...we may be stupid but we still have some ability to know when something is up.

No Plutonium in the atmosphere until after Challenger? I have to respectfully disagree :

www.physics.isu.edu...

In regard to the statement that 1 pound of Pu would kill everyone on Earth... One pound of plutonium would be enough to give 1.6E+9 persons a CDE of 50 rem (0.5 Sv) [which could result in 1.5E+5 additional cancers] *IF* and ONLY IF the material was pulverized into particles of respirable size and the material could be adequately dispersed in the atmosphere. A few decades ago the United States and other countries engaged in atmospheric nuclear bomb testing. These tests released many pounds of radioactive isotopes, including plutonium, to the atmosphere. Although there is some evidence of increased incidence of cancer among "downwinders", there have not been 1.5E+5 cancers in excess of the number expected. So it would be practically impossible to kill everyone on earth with one pound of plutonium.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

Yeah, quite convenient - the sat is off the site...no real time tracking unless you have a GDP of a few trillion dollars. Well, is this the part where we worry.

Hmmm. It could be brought down over Poland for sure... the chances of that occuring without direct human intervention are slim approaching zero...

Russkies got a big ol' Proton on the pad now... on hold. Contract flight... not that much payload onboard. Wink. Hum, dee, doh dee-doh. Singin' in the rain.

Look up Lisa Porter, her sudden recent departure from NASA to the new IARPA isn't because she's good looking. I heard her speak once... brill'. A whole bunch more there than just computational fluid dynamics... the Oppenheimer of the day in her fields of study (JMHO). Clever and fast.

I'd lay even odds that SANDIA or some place like that has some stuff occupying some serious mem-space at the moment. Both gaming and physics. Simming the be-jeezus out of this. Bet the Russkies and Chinese and French are too.

There's too much fuss for there not to be something "up". Shootin' it with an EKV could be a good-ish solution if all is exactly as advertised. I'd not be surprised to see a sim of the US plan to appear somewhere if even only as a PR piece and perhaps even before the event. This situation is being "spun-up" rather than "spun-down".

"Everyone" knows that the USA and several other national and quasi-national entities can shoot down and/or disable sats... this seems to be about more than the run of the mill sabre rattling. It's political.

It really feels like the new-old Cold War is sort gearing up with some extra players this time around.

It seems reasonable that the destruction of this object should be entirely visible to the naked eye providing the initial collision is in proximity of people with a clear sky and the interest to look up. The track so far is publicly available and some sites do offer 5 day groundtrack stuff.

What might it look like upon collision with a Kinetic-Kill Vehicle if there's nothing "extra-extra special" onboard? Pretty unspectacular... some jets of the the various tanks venting brightening it's pin-prick of light for an instant and perhaps then a few little pin-pricks of light if it's night time.

The rest should look a bit like a meteor shower... until it's starts raining metal somewhere. For sure most will burn up... some won't.

If the USA 193 has an RTG onboard I sure hope they get the targetting "perfect" and smash it to atoms. It still just doesn't sit right. Other RTG equipped stuff has been used before and some has come down in the drink and no really said anything much about it... 'cept maybe a few "green" folks and the odd indy-scientific organization.

USA193 is different but I don't think it has as much to do with being in a uncontrolled orbital state as much as it is a "chip" in a high stakes poker game that risks much more in foreign relations than in the physical falling to Earth of a very expensive bit of US kit.

I love it but I really hope no one gets dead over this...

Vic

I've been watching this for a few days. I think it was Wed. afternoon when suddenly the tracking site would no longer load. Now I can get there and track other satellites, but when i try to see US 193, I get all kinds of database errors instead of the tracking screen.

I stand corrected. We have breathed plutonium for decades.

n2yo.com is pitching MySQL errors... started about noon here. Did all the usual stuff... nope. Busted. 193 was over the Southern hemisphere at the time at an altitude of 171 statute miles travelling at 4.66 miles per second. Could be their sever is McBooked to the choke point. Maybe.

Cheers,

Vic

LOL yeah - its way worse than you originally thought...and thats just Plutonium - think of the other radioactive toxic metals from those test blasts, add in Chernobyl and BAM...here we are, all on the verge of glowing in the dark. Oops, almost forgot, the military has been injecting people of the US with radioactive material for "testing"...
To quote Homer J Simpson : "D'Oh"

The Pentagon is planning to shoot down a broken satellite that's expecting to crash to Earth in the next few weeks? Sounds like a job for Dick Cheney!

Seriously, the whole idea sounds fishy. Russia says they're going to target European countries if the join NATO...now this?

It sounds like saber rattling to me for one.

On another front what is on that satellite that if it got into the wrong hands would be so damaging to the US militarily. Can you say Project Blue Beam??

....from n2yo: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 18:53:45 UTC

altitude of 166 mi, just getting to the eastern coast of south america..

i watched it for like three minutes, and the graphic completely disappeared from the screen, leaving just the map, so maybe the site is getting hammered after all...
