ISLAMABAD (AFP) - Pakistan's interior ministry said Friday that Benazir Bhutto was killed after smashing her head on her car's sunroof while trying to duck, and that no bullet or shrapnel was found inside her.

Ok, so first we are told that she was shot in the neck and the chest, which would obviously result in a large amount of blood loss from the wounds. Now they say she just banged her head on the sunroof of the car?
I guess it's an easy mistake to make isn't it? I mean, moles, birthmarks and other blemishes can be mistaken for bullet holes can't they?

I don't buy it. The freaking guy walked up to her and shot her point blank and then blew his ass up. End o' story.

I agree. Who are they trying to kid? I expect that this is damage control - call it accidental and people don't know what to believe, except for those who actually witnessed the act. How many hits occur that accidentally kill the intended victim by means of the victim's own actions, in this case her diving to shield herself from the blast and hitting the sunroof?

I don't buy it either. I don't see the purpose behind changing the story either. Pretty confusing to me.

A CNN report I just read says no gunshot wound but a head injury where part of her skull was missing, leaking fluid/brain etc.

I'm not buying it either......she had apparently 'left instructions' that if she was killed, she wanted the FBI and Interpol to investigate......But of course, that will not be likely to happen.....

Her husband was supposed to be the original source of the 'bullet in the neck' story.....at least that's who they were crediting with the info on CNN and Fox when I first heard it.......seems like he'd be the most credible of the choices.

According to CNN, she had also told a journalist acquaintance that if she was killed, Musharraf had to be the one who'd done it.......(if he didn't have anything to do with it, looks like he'd be eager to have an outside group prove it!?)

sounds too similar to the story put out when her convoy was attacked by carbombs only a few weeks ago...she apparently survived that time by just happening to duck inside the from sunroof that she had been waving to the throngs from...and now she's killed by a sunroof ducking from this last attack?

Smells more fishy than Goldie the unhygenic goldfish doused in eau-de-fish cologne!

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction..watch it turn out she was knocked out not dead... I guess if she hit temple or base of skull that could produce death.. seems much more likely to knock her our or give concussion..any doctors out there?

How would hitting your head on the sunroof of the car kill you? I mean I hit my head on the roof of my car sooooo many times but it didn’t kill me!

Weren't some of the others that were in the car with her killed?? How did they die? Didn't they show a shot of the vehicle with all of the windows shot or blown out?

I watched the video of her getting into the car, just before this happened....another woman got in and seemed to be sitting beside her.....what happened to her?

Surely if it was an 'accident' they'd be intent on getting the proof of that out in the open where it could be verified.......that would save a lot of destruction and misery on the part of their country, as well as potentially save Musharraf's neck??

So she ripped open her own skull and exposed brain matter by ducking and hitting the car?

Well, you asked for Doc, so here I go - a blow to the head can kill you (obviously). If she were to hit her head at the base of the skull area with enough force, it is possible. Depending on the type of the explosive used, and the distance from her, there may have been enough force generated to throw her backward with enough force to do it.
The CNN comments led me to believe a piece of shrapnel entered at the side of her head.
With gunshot wounds, there aren't always exit wounds, depending on caliber of bullet, distance, etc.
The ER Physicians stated the XRay did not show any bullet fragments in her head. No Autopsy was done.
The Plot thickens...

It's possible, yes... I just don't believe this is the case here. The freaking guy walked up to her, shot her, and then detonated a freaking bomb. Regardless of whether it was an "accident," it is apparent as to what his/ their intentions were.
