So you stood by and watched just like the 'bloodthirsty' spectators in the crowd? Wether you were there or not, you still participated just by watching. No less guilty than the crowd gathered around.

No I didn't watch it at all, in your original post you said that some people are missing the point.
What I was trying to convey was that there is no point, it's a Heinous Crime committed by some Uneducated Neanderthals and should be seen as such.

I refrained from watching the vid as I just know I would be very distressed. But

I become incensed over issues like this and whilst I understand and am educated enough to know that this is a cultural/religious practice that has existed for hundreds of years, I can not help but feel the urge to mow these murdering Aholes with an UZI.

I sincerely wish that conditions for women will change in these regions.

Man's inhumanity to his fellow man is at times abyssmal

OMG. That was horrible. That beautiful poor girl. Bless her.

I don’t know what to say. I take it these people who did the killing nothing will happen to them.

What about the boy she was seeing is he ok?

I wonder if its possible for you to see the inherent contradiction and hypocrisy of this statement?

Earn democracy on their own...because the French didn't help us out at all during the Revolutionary War with troops, money, ships...okay.

Mow them down with a Uzi, nerve gas bomb, magic mini-nuke that only effects the crowd stoning....yeah, at first I would have been right there with you. Strong emotions to protect those in need are painful to overcome.

The only humanity of the whole thing was that she died. I could not bear to pick up that broken and bleeding body and tell that girl that it was okay now, she gets to live through an entire lifetime of pain and terror of all the ones she loved and lived with in her community.

Should it have happened in the first place, absolutely (long list of self-censored words) not. Animals? No. Pathetic examples of sacks of #, yes indeed. Personally I am mortified that any one of them walked away with a clear conscience after what they had done.

Unfortunately the killing part was all too easy for them. The ability to kill instantly is born in all of us. It takes a moment of thought to stop yourself. Anger, fear, shock or even evil intent is enough to kill.

So now to ask you for your moral compass: Should we pull our troops out now? Let people whose mindset is like this to believe they defeated the most power nation in the world's military might? Do you think it would be used to embolden them to come here? To do acts like this not in Fallujah, Bagdad and Mosul but in Chicago, Atlanta or Topeka?

Yes this video will fill you with horror and anger and even remorse because you could do nothing to help her. It saddens you that it was done and ove with long before you knew about it. It sickens you that it has mostlikely happened several times after this was done.

So you want it to stop? Make sure those in power get to see it. Educate them on the importance of what does happen. Why our influence needs to be there. That all men are equal and endowed by our creator with the inalienable rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Because that is definately not what she had.

You obviously don't know $#!+ about history. WWI and WWII have absolutely nothing in common with the situation in Iraq. You must be some kind of kook.

There is no contradiction. There is a purpose to eliminate such crazy people, and nuking them is a perfectly sane solution. I believe that such action will make them think twice about stoning a poor helpless girl to death.

When I saw that video I was absloutly sickened. With me if I get real upset about something I feel this headache coming on. So I signed off earlier. In the wee hours I spent the remainder of the morning running to the bathroom. I managed to recover enough, because I want to type this message.

I spent 3 months in Egypt last year. And feel free to ask me anytime. Even in that amount of time I was still learning. I seen homeless people. And hey I even witnessed a dust storm. But I never seen anyone attacked as this girl was. She was just 17 I cannot fathom why they would kill someone who's not considered a adult yet. I hope I never see anything like that again.

A animal is too kind of a word for these people more like monsters. Does anyone have a inking on how prescious human life is? Now I'm not going to shove my believes on you but just allow me to say this. In the Christian Bible as one of the Ten Commandments. Thou shall not murder. I know war happens and people die. But if someone does you wrong for pete sakes talk to them. Is vengence the answer for everything?

Why do we kill our own species? No matter what your believe is or where you live. We may look different on the outside but on the inside we are all the same.

This makes me sick. These people need help.

I don't agree with a lot of the things people do. Should I stone them to death?

Was it a crime for this girl to date a boy of another religious sect?
I'm not that familiar with Islam, but is this viewed as justice for commiting a crime? And if so, could you imagine the result if these actions were praticed in the International community such as NATO. I'm sure many countries disagreed with the invasion of Iraq and viewed it as a crime that America didn't received support from NATO and invaded a country without approval.

Would George Bush be held accountable? Congress?

Horrable! Absolutly gastly.

This video is so disturbing that I cut it off 1/2 way through. I can't bring myself to watch someone being killed in such a brutal mannor. No offence to anyone here, but what kind of people are these?

How can such creulity be tolerated by a group of civilised people who claim to believe in God?

How can anyone just kill another person like that? Does life mean Nothing in their eyes?

Religious beliefs,
Fanatic obsession.
Does following faith lead us to violence?
Blurring the lines between virtue and sin
They can't tell where God ends and mankind begins.

I am greatly saddened by this disturbing act of human brutality and the seemingly increasing acts of human brutality world wide.A wise man learns from his mistakes, however it appears we as the human race have learned nothing.
these images haunt me.

I couldn't watch all of it myself. Her cries were pretty disturbing to listen to. God bless her!

In the end this is all propaganda to get you to hate Islam even more. Don't buy into it.

Peace

Let's remove the "religion" discussion from this and talk about the "Cultural" (Or complete lack thereof) implications. To begin, I am not racist, nor am I a bigot. But folks, let's face it... the Middle East is a CESSPOOL of bassackwards, under-educated miscreants who, for the most part, have an innate belief that anything Western is evil and should be killed.

There are the religious extremists and those we are fully aware of - but also be aware that when you see these third world dregs burning the US flag, burning a President in effigy, marching and chatting "death to America" these are ORDINARY citizens - not religious extremists.

I am not advocating for the mass genocide of an entire race of people. What I am recommending is complete isolation. No more aid, no more anything! Simply withdraw everything Western (It's what they want anyway) and they will bring about extinction on their very own!

First of all, the girl converted to Islam. The people who killed her were not Muslims, and killed her for her conversion and for dating a Muslim boy. So before you jump to conclusions, research first.

No one justified the slaying. As you can see from the many posts in this thread, people are claiming the group that did it were Muslim. It doesn't hurt to clarify the truth, does it?

Tim they deny that God had a son so in short they deny God too, Their god is Allah which is a ancient arabic moon god. Don't get me wrong Isalmic people are very sweet because I met a family in Cairo they treated me like family. This was before I knew anything about Islam. But this rules are so harsh even when a girl is raped they will kill her. It seems that they have no regards to women at all. I beleive stoning is way out dated now and should not be practiced at all.
When I was in Cairo even though they had cell phones and satellite tv it seemed like they were still in the 1980's. So I'm sure their still locked in their belief system. One occurance happened while I was there but it happened in Alexsandra a girl was killed inside a church- later found out the brother came in and killed his sister because she converted to christianty. My friend failed to tell me that he just brushed it off calling the man crazy.Later we talked and he said once I come back to Egypt he wanted me to convert to isalm. Thats why I didn't return there yet.

Ok. So they are not Muslim? Because as far as all the information tends to point to their religion as Muslim, I too assumed this. In assuming so however, I did not make my judgement as to their being "animals" on this fact. But moreover, made this judgement by solely based upon their actions.

I think it is fair to say many of us would make that assumption about anyone who partook in this behavior.
