who is the "The Heaviest Metal band Ever"

The guy who said Gojira knows what he's talking about. They're an excellent band.

For heaviest band I go with Meshuggah though. I haven't heard anything on par with the song Bleed, every song listed here included. The song Drought by Pelican gets a mention too.

Thats not even heavy.. try Cephalic Carnage, with Divination & Volition. That, my friends, is truely heavy...

Eh, I dunno about the heaviest. One of the fastest maybe, but that's about it.

The heaviest band I've heard is probably Mortician. I'd say they're even heavier than Meshuggah.

Not sure if they have been mentioned yet, but Last Days of Humanity are by far one of the heaviest bands out there, especially the Putrefaction in Progress album. Here's a song from it, complete with hilarious video.



A lot of metal elitists will tell you that this isn't metal, since it's actually goregrind which is a more extreme form of grind, which comes from punk, but whatever.

There are a ton of brutal death metal bands out there, some of the heaviest include Brodequin and Disgorge (mex). I don't mean to be an ass, but most of what's been mentioned in this thread doesn't come close in terms of "heaviness".

I also agree with you on the amount of songs that get posted here that are hardly even close to being heavy.

Anyone mention Venom yet? Not the heaviest, but in league.

jaja those bands are good and everything but definitely not the heaviest, here are some names: Hate Eternal, Krisiun, Aborted, Cannibal Corpse (as someone said before), Brain Drill, Carnifex, Carcass.

I am a bit partial to a band called,"Hail Of Bullets" and their album,"Of Frost And War".
A bit reminiscent of early Entombed,(who were another great band in their day).

well im not sure what the heaviest band is but the bands i listen to are pretty heavy ill just throw a couple out there. lamb of god, gojira, cannibal corpse, chimaira decimate the weak, otep (even tho its a girl), all that remains (except for the singing parts), job for a cowboy, idk what do yall think?

Well, when i think heavy, I go with sludgecore metal. Very slow, very deep, I consider that heavy. So, i'm going with EYEHATEGOD. If you are going for brutal, i'd have said soilent green or something of the like.
