You know, Shawna, that all of your posts in this thread have just been about ignoring people and haven't actually contributed to the thread itself? I just find it rather ironic that you post simply to say you're ignoring people for not contributing to the thread. Then, again, maybe you have me on ignore already for commenting on this same thing in an entirely different thread already...

I don't know why people were getting their knickers in a twist just because i and
a few others ridiculed a few posts, is wasn't done in a nasty way and im certainly not
a troll no matter what people think. And not one of my posts was aimed at the person who started the thread, who for some reason took it as a personal insult.

As for coming up with counterevidence against some claims that where made i didn't
have to, due to the fact that they would've been proved wrong in a couple of days, which they were.

I liked the thread, i found out some useful info that i never knew before.
Some posters just took this way to seriously and was only trying bring them back
down to earth.

I take back when i called most of the posts rubbish, that was crass and pointless to
to the discussion. Which i apologise.

seems like this thread swayed off topic a bit, but that happens alot here, oh well

anyhew, today's the 23'd and there's been nothing but more of the usual in the world as far as i've seen

yet another prediction shot down by the all powerful devourer, time.

yes i know this thread wasnt a prediction but more of a store house of knowledge incase somehting did happen but i do recall a prediciton for this date, a bible code prophesy or something.

don't get me wrong, the end is near, it just won't ocme from "supernatural" or "alien" powers, it will come from our own governments

I think this thread is interesting and hope this or another one like it will continue. I think the spirit of this thread is to trackk unusual happening around the globe that may indicate something major in the works. Bravo to the starter of this thread, whether 8/22 was meaninglass or not.

thanks peeps for your words of support for this thread.

so...

can we PLEASE restart it again from this point onwards to discuss ONLY events which MAY have a bearing on a POSSIBLE future event, without the inclusion of ANY negative posts from ANY members for OR against this thread.

there's still plenty stories out there that need analysing for FUTURE reference. forewarned is forearmed.

perhaps one day nobody here will be able to look back on a huge terrorist event and claim they never saw it coming. i hope it never comes to that. id be glad if this thread was redundant, but terrorist events by terrorists or governments wont go away just because we want them to. this thread was never intended to be about one specific date and that one date only. it was about the date that hopefully never comes.

I agree with above about refraning from 'dissing' the subject, yet I can
understand people's annoyance.
The reality is that people are putting their lives on the line for beliefs,
pay and patriotism and we're here pondering whether the 22nd was
marked in history for some reason.

I believe that most sober, adult ATSers believed that the 22nd August
merely came after 21st, nothing more.

Oh... to Angel slayer and his quote:" Man, I got so wasted yesterday,
got laid with this ugly girl, and no end of the world"
My sister said that you didn't think she was ugly at the time.

'Twas the night after Isra al Mi'raj, when all through the mosque

Not a Muslim was stirring, not even Ahmadinejad;

Sharia violators were hung on cranes with care,

Since premarital sex was (at least for women) banned everywhere;

Jihadists were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of 21 virgins belly danced in their heads;

And Um Ma in her hijab, and I in my turban,

Had just settled down after drinking contraband bourbon,

When out in the iwan there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the sand dunes below

Gave the lustre of a serene post-nuclear glow,

When, what to my wondering eyes should grasp,

But Muhammad (Praise be to Him), and the winged steed Buraq,

With a little old driver, so filled with aplomb,

I knew in a moment it must be the 12th Imam!

More rapid than eagles his missiles they came,

And they whistled, and routed, as he called them by name;

"Now, Shahab 1! now, Korsar! now, Samid and IRIS!

On, Shahab 3! on Zelzal! on, IRSL-X-4, oh bliss!

To the top of the sky! Over the Zionist wall!

Now dash away! dash away! Annihilate all!"

As dry sand that before the sandstorm fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up past the minarets the missiles they flew,

With payload full of WMDs, and Ahmadinejad too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the dome

The call to Asr as each cleric moaned.

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,

Down the chimney the Mahdi came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were radiated with ashes and soot;

A bundle of infidel heads he had flung on his back,

And he looked like he conquered the infidels in Iraq.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

But he was soaked with well water, and I thought, ‘Well, how scary!’

No doubt in my mind that this man was the Imam,

As the beard of his chin was as black as jahannam;

With atomic warhead held tight, he gazed out the expanse

His beady eyes on Jerusalem, the warhead from Natanz,

But made with love by North Korean plants;

He had a broad face and a little round stomach,

That shook, when he laughed like a plateful of hummus.

He was chubby and plump, his waist not barren,

He must have been eating well while waiting in Jamkaran;

With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

He soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And fueling up the rocket, the warhead he did insert,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the minaret he rose;

He sprang to his steed as his missile launched with a clap,

And away it flew to wipe Israel off the map.

But I heard him exclaim, as he ascended to Firdaws

"Ahmadinejad is a dupable imbecile after all!"

It amuses me how on the week prior to agust the 22nd, there were only six pages in the thread. Now there's nineteen. Seems to me that many people secretly beleived it, but did not want to get flamed if it didnt happen. And now they're the ones flaming.

Hoorays! The most ignored and uneventful day of the week was, in fact, ignored and uneventful.

EDIT: BWAHAHA thats poetry at its finest

I'll throw a conspiracy notion that something is being hidden.
Also, I think it's going to be declared a holy holiday, or some ..., because of all of the significant things that have happened on August 22 in past years.

Look it up on Wikipedia. It's actually listed. (srch August 22).

2006 - Islamic celebration of the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to "the farthest mosque," usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back (c.f., Koran XVII.1)

now here's an interesting story... link

a us citizen and student was found to have a stick of dynamite, a coke bottle filled with mud and amonium nitrite and a blasting cap detonater in his luggage, but this was not counted as an act of terrorism.

apparantly it was all a souvenir he bought in bolivia.

does this make sense?

Not enough to convince me. There have been plenty of people who tried to take illegal things on planes. Also, if this was as big as it was supposed to be, it would have been a lot of terrorists all in different planes. Besides, they've already tried and failed at the using chemical bombs thing. Terrorists may blindly follow their crazed religious leaders, but they're not that stupid. They'll try something new and never seen before for the next big one.

The next big one, I think, will be an organized disruption.
Shootings, stabbings, small bombs, total chaos.

This cell phone thing: If terrorists were to be directed (GPS), then ordered to carry out some plan (randomly shoot, etc), it would create a level of fear that would take a pretty big distraction to defray everyone back into a sense of security.

i was wondering whether all the recent plane scare stories will lead to a 'boy who cried wolf' situtation and that something really big might happen to some planes once everyone is fed up with all the disruption caused by hauling innocent arab looking people off planes just because they wear the wrong (read conservative) clothing or have cellphones, or are mentally disturbed and need restraining, or write bomb on a sick bag or carry sticks of dynamite and detonators in thier luggage.

slacking off security measures due to pressure from all the false flag arrests gives a perfect opportunity to then plan a major attack and bring in even more severe security when they say 'we told you so'

in the meantime, you may be right - it will probably be small attacks. perhaps any plane plans are too hot at the moment. communication systems or transmitters would be great places to cause lots of chaos & confusion.

however, it seems that taking out a few innocent people with you is also the preferred method, so maybe suicide bombers in travel agents or cellphone shops would be next.

be vigilant, but not paranoid

Dick Cheney was quoted as saying: "It's just a matter of time before there's suicide bombers in this country."
Like they have in Israel.
This would cause a total disruption and I would hope that not every Arab is confined due to this.
With the level of readily availabe bomb making material, this is a likely scenario.

now here's a story worth keeping an eye on - the u.s. ballistic missile defence system and what runsfield said about wanting a full-scale 'test' for it...

gotta justify the amount of money spent on it somehow.....

The only thing I noticed that happened before the appearance of new problems (like the riots in France, but there were other occasions that I do not remember now, at least on more) was the fact that the Dollar was valued below 0.76 Euros.

And as the Dollar today is at 0.78, and has been for the last 3 weeks, I think we are OK for the moment.
