ATS, BTS, What would you like to see in the future?

I would still like to see writing forums for Above Politics and BTS. Fiction and non fiction alike. ATS has them, and I think the rest of the boards would benefit.

in regards to BTS post ratings (which i assume will be implemented some time in the future)
as this is a more varied area (not so much relying on the information rather than, well, whether the post is funny, informative or in terms of things like "Rate the ** above you 1/10" etc. then maybe more specific post ratings like "Funny" "informative" "helpful" "Dumb" and so forth. of cause, being BTS it is mainly a non serious board (not all though) so these ratings will not reflect on the way the poster is portrayed (like the average star rating on ATS at the moment).

however i think that such ratings should only be added on the more informal forums (General chat, rant). other forums such as the global news and such should either have the ATS star ratings or their own (just ones like "Informative" "agree" "Disagree" etc.). personally i think the prior would be better and would take less work to implement.

I am not sure if it can be done, but I would like the option of being able to edit a post without the little disclaimer at the bottom showing up that says,

One thing I'd really like to see is a new forum in BTS. I write alot of little short stories in the Jokes, Puns and Pranks forum. I would love to have a forum where I could post some little stories with a horror angle. I would like to see this in BTS, as the rules are slightly more lax than they are in ATS.

This is exactly why I suggested this. I'm hopeful we will see some writing forums in AP and BTS.

I like that idea. I think it would also because we would have less people posting the same pics and asking "is this real" We can refer the people to that thread first before they post anything they have come across

Please let me pay ATS a few quid a month so I dont see the ads anymore. You can still ban me, warm me, im still an ordinary ATS member, except I dont have to see ads, none of them, not even the google ad links on the side.

I think a "Read All" feature at the bottom of a page would do nicely, because if I'm reading a topic and I want to read some kind of debate (or watch someone get outed for hoaxing), if the page takes to long to load, I sometimes forget what I was reading. If the "Read All" Feature was there, it would show all the replies on one big, continuous page.


Just a thought.

I like how the links auto code themselves to the domain name now , but I was wondering if you guys could make the ATS thread links auto-title themselve slike when we enter links into the forms for the Newsletter Special or the "breaking alternative news"???

I miss the "views" thing. Not everyone who reads what you type remembers to flag it, and I can't track whether or not people even care about what I write.

one thing that annoys me is that i keep thinking that the replies column is the views, and the flags replies...
and in the profile on recent or favorite threads, it doesn't register views anymore, just displays a 0, which annoyed me too as i thought that no one was looking at my threads

I believe, against religious views, that genetic engineering will be the next evolutionary step. If we weren't meant to do it, we wouldn't be able to. And although it could be our own undoing, you cannot supress the urge humans have to do what is deemed impossible.

Besides the HOLLOW DECK STUFF.. serously, what I would like to see in the near future?

1. Foremost before anything: ACCOUNTABILITY...I more than appreciate the fact that Springer has brought up a few threads that ATS has affronted the obstinate and beligerent few who have ACCOSTED those, who hold dear the truth, to be expended of being not worthy of portraying the truth to others. I applaud this forthright.

2. The "star system" - I understand this is an ongoing purveying system that must take into 'all' accounts within the alloted system, however, this slowly 'evolving' -intergrating system via members et al, has not been refined as much as moderators had hoped for - has presently 'bastardized' into a system, whereby, other ATS members have "systmatically taken advantage" of ratings.

3. I would like to see at some point: (going back to the point of Accountibility) -MORE MONERATORS on sites. "Give proper instructions to Moderators and how they should PROPERLY deal with members!

I think that ATS doesn't have enough mods.

The 'screening' ones. In this I mean...I understand there are only so many mods who will 'physically' do their utmost, at intervalls, to censor what is necessary to be posted. However, there isn't enough mods to be had, on a 24/7 basis, to continually 'screen subject matter', ALWAYS.

I think this is the biggest thorn in the roses to be contended with.

To be honest, I really don't have any new ideas. I've seen ATS grow ever since the first couple of months it became active on the web (Yeah, look me up in the Members List & I'm on the first page at (lucky?) number 13... ); Not really much actual "evolution" because ATS still maintains its original purpose & function exceptionally well.

I think, overall from the first days, ATS may have grown a lot, but it still adheres to its original conception; Like the Great White Shark, it's grown a lot, but ATS hasn't really needed much "evolution" to maintain the integrity that was here since the beginning.

From my own experience with ATS, I've seen it grow so big that I can't even find many of my earliest posts & threads anymore...It's that big! IMO, I can't think of anything to add to something that started out pretty much perfect to begin with.

Do I get any brownie points (for use with the ATS Store in the Members Center) for this?
