And now your showing your age my friend.

Ciao

Shane

Don't worry Harte, I liked your joke.

Papahomer,

Yeah, I realized that it dated me. But I fear Shane may have missed the intent.

I couldn't think of any other way to work in the "dish" part of it.

What is going on, thread denizens? Have you pulled up camp and headed to threads with bigger "Kick me!" signs pinned to their shirts?

I'm thinking this issue of a pyramid in Bosnia is not over. Not quite yet.

Well, Sam's "bosnian pyramid" is quickly unraveling. He hasn't made any recent announcements, though I suspect that he'll try for more damage control.

Certainly not. There's too much ego and too many tourism dollars (potential) at stake here. I'm expecting another "startling discovery" that's going to get shot down, too. It'll rattle to an end in a few years, but not before a lot of lovely archaeological sites have been destroyed by a clumsy amateur.

Well, where did everybody went?

Even Crvenkapica, who had posted some good photos from Bosnia has not posted since June.

Is this case closed?

you just watch Byrd
twenty years from now you'll be trying to persuade a new generation of Pseudo followers who just discovered the internet that it was always a hill
they won't believe you
they'll quote the australian pyramids and the late Graham Hancock as evidence
just you wait and see

You know, if you ever get tangled up with the Mafia (so I hear), they can dispose of a body pretty easily. Just a couple of concrete slippers and a friendly call to the local newspaper.

How do you dispose of a "pyramid"?

Maybe we have to call in Prof. Coriglione....

Personally...from those photos its surprising noones found this out before

Its pretty dominant of the landscape and unless the Bosnians hadnt ever previously seen a pyramid then I dont know what else to say.

I've read on Bosnian pyramid that they don't want to dig out the corner of the pyramid, although they're digging near the corner. Is that true?

i may be wrong, but are you implying that there was some sort of concious co-ordination between the various ancient civilizations to build similar structures, or that they were all being directed to build the pyrimids by the same outside source?

i find this highly improbable, and remind everyone that the pyramid shape was used to provide a way for the ancients to (metaphorically) reach the heavens.

No idea if that's true. But obviously they only want to dig bits which they can pretend look vaguely manmade .....

I'm beginning to suspect that they're sculpting some of the rocks now. Their photos on their site show they've lifted blocks away (and the blocks are, very unprofessionally, just leaning against the trench wall they've made.)
www.bosnian-pyramid.net...

I see Osmanagic now has not one but TWO books on this.

Give them time enough and Bosnia will have the first European pyramid, made in the 21st century by the one and only Osmanagic...

Yes, I've been wondering that for a while - some of the alleged paving they've uncovered has looked very fresh to me.

ive seen a croatian archaeologist on croatian TV saying its indeed a pyramid, but many people have problems accepting it untill they see it in person....which is pretty obvious by some replies here, Osmanagic was there as well, hes a pretty cool guy.

So why dont you "experts" pack your bags and go check it out for yourself

theyre making it themselves.....?

you guys really crack me up, really

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

your claims are even more ridiculous than the claim that there is a pyramid in Bosnia

yeah i totally agree
next thing we know you guys will say it was built by aliens conspiring with the maya who flew here on beams of light from the pleaides

that would be really ridiculous

Why would they do that when real experts have already done just that, and said it was a natural formation? There was even some manipulating of some of their reports by the guy to suit his needs if I remember correctly...

Keep in mind there was already something there that we knew about, but that's not the issue here. The issue was, it's a pyramid, which I believe to not be entirely correct.

Well Dr Robert Schoch has now got a few pages on his website dedicated to showing Osmaganic up for a con man or a deluded fool
robertschoch.net...
i had to laugh though when he said

Having more than a casual interest in ancient pyramids (after all, I am the author of two books focusing on pyramids: Voyages of the Pyramid Builders, and Pyramid Quest),

thats like saying I have a more than casual interest in vegetables because I eat a lot of beef
i.e. Robert Schoch is not a pyramidologist, egyptologist or any kind of historian
his claim in "voyages of the pyramid builders" that there was a race of super advanced masons travelling the world building pyramids who had originated on the now sunken land of sundaland was laughable
it later turned out that this book and the Pyramid quest book was actually mostly ghost written for him by Robert Aquinas McNally who also is not any kind of historian
so back to that statement again

Having more than a casual interest in ancient pyramids (after all, I have my name on two books focusing on pyramids: Voyages of the Pyramid Builders, and Pyramid Quest although I did not actually write them),

one pseudo historian attempts to debunk another pseudo historian basically
if i was you I'd listen to the real experts
who all agree its a complete sham
even the real experts hired by Osmaganic in the first place to say it wasn't

...I eat a lot of beef...

I hate to admit this, but I was channel surfing and ran across the WWE and LBJ (the footballer, not the president) said something like "just because I play a lot of recreational softball, that doesn't entitle me to play with the Mets" or something.

Just 'cos I looked at Phnom Chiso temple, that doesn't make me an expert on pre-Angkorian Khmer architecture and just 'cos I climbed Ayers Rock (it was when I did it), that doesn't make me an expert on Anangu-Pitjantjatjara culture.

Never having been to Egypt, much less Mexico, I am definitely not an expert on pyramids, which is probably why I'm not saying things like "this proves it is a man-made pyramid", or, worse, arbitrarily giving the "pyramids" new-age hippie, wannabe druidic names like The Pyramid of the Sun...

Oh well, on a more socialistic level, I hope Osmangic's subterranean vandalism is keeping a bunch of Bosnians employed in a country that desperately needs it.
