Anyone connected to a "business"comitee must surely be able to see the great danger our economy is in since the budget.
Should be an interesting debate!
Hopefully they can also reign in any ideas about a blasphemy law that is in the works in our supposedly free and secular naton before anyone who disagrees with what certain books say gets locked up or worse.

Plus-if Keith pushes through that insane Chagos isle deal before the next US admin which he is trying to do-the business comitee will likely be very worried about Trumps repurcussions on that.
Which will probably be severe,as that deal is highly detrimental to both UK and the USA's national security, just when we are on the brink of WW3.

Oh well I bet Lizz Truss is happy for a change as she is no longer the leader of the worst government we ever had.

What "blasphemy law" is that?!!

Absolutely , a further nail in the coffin for free speech in the UK.

It was asked if Kier supported such a law in todays PMQ's,and he said...can you guess?
He said yes he loves the idea,

Blackbelt Barrister does a good analysis and includes the relevant PMQ segment at approx 1minute here:

I think you are OK to blaspheme about Liz Truss though,as shes not mentioned in any holy" book.

So, if they have set a date, a full 4 months before the petition date ends..... can they pull the petition?
It would be the logical thing to do. BUT, if that is the case, then no wonder they have set such an 'early response' to prevent the figure going even higher. Particularly if there is another traditional budget in March/April and Council elections in May.

Signatures now stand at 2,849,440 , down to a trickle now but hopefully we'll hit the 3 million mark.

A steady trickle. 3million would be nice by the weekend.
Do you know if they can pull the petition if they've now agreed a date?
Also, how much time has been allocated to this debate?

The petition has sent a message to Starmer , that message will be reinforced next May at the local elections when Labour will be repayed for their lies a deceit.

A message? How quaint. What are the lies and deceits that are troubling the signatories so?

Leaky faucet ? , and there was me thinking you're British , they're called taps in these parts.

No, tap is more commonly used but the German, while utilitarian, is imprecise which is why I prefer the French and agree with the US on that one.

Though, in hindsight, perhaps I should have gone with the tap given the associated connotation and what is essentially a scraping of the barrel.

It's rising far too slowly.
I shared the petition link again on Facebook, highlighting that the date for debate has been set and more people need to sign before January 6th for it to have any meaningful impact.
At the moment it can be dissmissed as a 'nothing burger' as our American friends say.

In itself it may be a nothing burger but as a symbol of discontent I think it's served its purpose Jane , added to the poll commissioned by inews showing nearly 50% of respondents wanted a fresh election within 6 months it's a clear indication to Labour that although they have a majority in Parliament they are not carrying the people with them.

Lord Ashcroft is publishing a fully revised and updated biography of Sir Keir Starmer next Spring , according to Isabella Oakshott that should be when we all discover Starmer's little secret , I live in hope that could be the shot that brings him down.

I agree, but 3 million would be very nice before the debate.
It may enjoy another spike if there are more revelations or announcements that pi** people off.

A poll just in puts Reform ahead of Labour. In that poll, most of the Labour cabinet would lose their seats and Labour would lose 50% of their seats. It is just one pole, but just the same.
Petition stands at 2,959,999 at time of writing.

Stephen Lawrence? One of the perps dads was a well known South London villain. The Police investigation was corrupt.

I have some personal professional knowledge, which I can't share.

The Poll has frozen at 2,959,999 for over 24 hours now. Really surprised it has not gone up at least a little bit after Starmer's 're-launch' yesterday.
