Wasn't he crying out for another referendum on the Brexit vote?

It will be interesting to see how many votes this garners over the next week but it will have zero effect on Labour with their massive majority. It seems they have decided that this is a one term government and they are hell bent on upsetting as many people in the country as possible, and they are doing a bloody gob job of it at the minute.
There may be a 20 billion black hole but after this shambles has finished 20 billion will be a drop in the ocean.

They aren't votes, they are unverified signatures.
All it can do is force a parliamentary debate which will be laughed out of The Commons. Same as the one's wanting to cancel Brexit and for another referendum on Brexit.

....but it will have zero effect on Labour with their massive majority.

Of course it won't.
And there is no precedent for it to do so.

And that won't change until we have real electoral reform.

....and Starmer was one of those leading that charge if I remember correctly.
Labour's majority is tentative at best. Many of those seats they got was by the slimest of majority votes. The map that accompanies those signatures on the petition is very interesting.

And there is no precedent for it to do so.

Granted there is no precedent for a petition on this subject to have been succesful. Heck, I remember well when around 2 million people marched on London to demonstrate against Blair taking us into war with Iraq..... that was the day democracy died in the UK IMHO. All the same, one thing this ongoing petition until next May will do, is garner more and more support if Labour keep going the way they are.... getting us into a war not withstanding.

And that won't change until we have real electoral reform.

Absolutely agree. If we had some system like proportional representation (it does have some problems) in place already, the current political landscape would be very, very different just now.
We are losing our freedom of speech at the rate of knots atm.... we have to use every means left to us to have our voices heard.

Audio has emerged of Deputy PM Angela Rayner a couple of years ago ranting and calling Eton educated kids homo-phobic , racist scum , but of course this isn't a Class war.

You educated Southerners like a bit of Northern rough.....and you're previous regarding noted female Labour MP's is quite well known.

Personally, the thought of coming face to face with her self-proclaimed 'ginger growler' scares the crap out of me.....but it'd be a challenge I'm sure I'd be able to rise to!

To be fair, I don't mind her. I know she often talks bollocks - sometimes I think she's just toeing the party line etc - but she's done remarkably well considering her background and she's never professed to be anything other than what she is.

Sodomy may be the norm but that can and does usually preclude homosexuality. Much like in the Roman legions and Ancient Greece, you can get ahead by giving head but not by enjoying it, and certainly, not ever, for love.

I think Rayner's comments are a fair and honest appraisal, and should not be limited to Eton but applied to the Public school system in general which has consistently proven itself to be rife with child abuse, and where bullying and all manner of -isms are utilised to socially isolate victims. The practices, historically, and present, in these schools are well documented so there is a substantial body of evidence to support Rayner's remarks.

I wouldn't describe it so much as a stream as a leaky faucet running into the drain.

All those people not knowing how UK government works? Clearly our education systems is failing.

What happened to your fella with the vote of no confidence petition? Did he present it so that it could be discussed in parliament?

This petition starter does realise that any signatures above the 100,000 point are of no consequence? There are no other levels set and you don't get to present the same question multiple times to pariliament based on a division by 100,000.

The petition has sent a message to Starmer , that message will be reinforced next May at the local elections when Labour will be repayed for their lies a deceit.

Leaky faucet ? , and there was me thinking you're British , they're called taps in these parts.
