Did the US ask for any assistance?

Your not exactly a Third World country.

No, but we are getting there fast, and so is your country. When a nation invites the 3rd world into their borders, eventually, they become 3rd world. You should know this. Your government is allowing the 3rd world into your borders as well. Like here, your worst enemy is your own damned government. Kind of like, "You Are What You Eat", so to speak. They are working against you and you don't even realize it.

America HAS NO ALLIES,

Can we have our dead brave servicemen/women from the Iraq conflict back then

or

When American hostages were taken in Iran, for instance, President Carter was unable to do anything constructive to get them released, and more money wouldn’t have changed that. It was only through the efforts of our Canadian allies, through their embassy, that the hostages were rescued and snuck out of the country.

The World Helps Clean Up The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill

On April 20, 2010, an explosion aboard the BP-contracted Deepwater Horizon oil rig killed 11 crew members and unleashed a hellish barrage of toxic oil into the environment. The US Coast Guard estimated that the damaged oil well was spewing 159,000 liters (42,000 gal) of oil each day into the Gulf of Mexico. It wasn’t until four month after the explosion that the oil well was permanently sealed. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill was one of the worst ecological disasters to date, causing untold damage to the environment and to the economy of the US Gulf Coast. The countries that offered assistance included Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam. The US accepted donations of skimming equipment from Canada, Mexico, Netherlands, and Norway. Additionally, many other nations assisted BP directly, truly turning the clean-up into an international effort.

this thread is just another example of how politics makes people blind to reality, I long for the day when no one votes for idiots in suits, until then i will continue to abstain from voting

Ummm...must have been the ..."Truth...Justice...and the American way"...lie peddled to the emasculated European vassals... They're so steeped in kept mentality that they still don't see that Good ole Daddy USA is their keeper...and is currently in the process of de-industrializing their countries at the expense of their citizenry...

I’d say bad trade policies and China are more at fault. But part of that was the greed of consumers, and politicians looking at low hanging fruit.

But it’s not the case for all of them. Generally speaking most western ones are probably doing better post WWII in terms of quality of life than before it.

And if you look at former USSR states like Poland, some had immeasurable improvement.

And from their "War on Terror" in Afghanistan, too?

The ingrate.

Meh. It's spun to look detrimental, but really they've been begging for this for 1000 days. Biden's actually been a coward. Russia fires everything not loaded with a nuke at Ukraine and he listened to the same advisers as he did in Afghanistan apparently.

A long overdue greenlight that definitely moonlights as a spiteful "f*ck you" to the incoming administration and his 3 point 24-hour plan. Let's see him president now!

But it's not detrimental ass hurt. It's a lot of tailwagging and posturing to set the transition table. Maybe it will be like Reagan and they'll just wait for the innaguaration for the peace deal?

Otherwise, I don't get it. Take The Russian nuclear apocalype seriously? Biden will start it giving Ukraine 100 km of range? Really?

Meanwhile all the Nordic countries call out China for cutting NATO optic cables and Russia blowing up Nordstream Pipelines, but both countries are so adept, and people are so mindless, that they can get anyone to blame their own government for the anti-NATO sabotage. Which soon demands a swift call "to deescalate global conflict," and even withdraw from the treaty organization altogether. Using the same warped logic put out by Russian and Chinese state media.

Just building the narrative of "support for global conflicts (EXCEPT ISRAEL) are no longer our concern." Both are important for our continued global dominance even if the POTUS is a potato.

It was global the moment Putin took advantage of our weak administration to avenge his puppet candidate losing the Ukraine election. He failed to get a Ukrainian Lukashenko and decided to just take the buffer zone against NATO he so desperately wanted.

And now, in the name of greatness no less, the masses are demanding we don't bother with a proxy war over the encroachment of the treaty organization we are the most important (militarily) member of?

Though Ukraine is not an official member, the war was leverage at every country that is. Look how committed Poland is to defense now. It's important.

If indirect threats to NATO are no longer important, we really suck at chess, collectively, and don't deserve the superpower status If they can play us into check so easily.

Russia is doing the equivalent of luring out a rook from its key defensive position to expose an angle of attack, and convincing the opponent its their best move. US out of NATO is like taking down the Queen.

But yes, the money. 56 as of billion in September. The disproportionate amount we've given in this NOT GLOBAL conflict. But the money harped over is less than my state's one time projected budget deficit (before recent NOT AT ALL TRUMP RELATED tech stock capital gains and high end earnings balanced it out). The money is half the cost of our High Speed Bridges to Nowhere. It's made to seem an unnecessary expense.

And I'm sure enlisting "Moscow" Marjorie Taylor-Green in The Department of Spite and Liberal Provocation®️ will make sure Ukraine funding is cut.

My best guess is diplomacy, see Ukraine needs money to rebuild, US will do that, plus only Ukraine and US contractors, then is the issue of Russia, they are hurting because their limited trading choices, they will welcome an ease on those trading sanctions.

But this time Ukraine and Russia both are ready for a stop to the madness.

US have allies, the entire NATO forces are US, NATO is US, there are the allies, all those countries involved own it to the US.

Plain and simple.

Who pays the bills owns the house.

The guy in the video seems level headed, the woman is also fairly level headed although she does get a little enthused some times.

The professor in the video has analyzed the whole issue pretty well by my opinion. He is not interpreting things by opinion, he is properly assessing the start of the conflict properly and is sensible in his video. He is not a conspiracy theorist nor is he evaluating things based on his beliefs. I like that. Good video.

The west has been causing some problems for the security of his country and it was his job to protect the security of Russia....we would not let russia put nukes or large missiles in Cuba and if they did, we would respond the same way as he did. See what happens if Russia starts putting a nuclear base or missiles in cuba that could reach DC. I would expect our government to stop that action.

I still want to see Don Trump with a Marlon Brando inflection standing before all the heads of the NATO countries.

"Have we not been generous with our military support? Have we not held up our end of the deal? I don't like when my generosity gets taken advantage of. My money. It's like food out of my country's children mouths. It's an insult. Now you want our protection, but you bring me, Dutch, this allocation of .82 percent and I'm insulted. And I don't like being insulted. I think we have an understanding that either your brains or 2% of your GDP will be spent on defense.

You wouldn't want us to pull our protection."

Partial credit. Either him or Russia got all but 3 to pay their protection money.

I guess I don't like the leveraging of our military superiority as a way to shame European countries over cutting defense spending. They still spent a lot of what they did put aside at Lockheed.

I hope it ends with Trump keeping them honest and this isn't a segue to be to too great for NATO and the rest of the world.

And that is why many will love to be the fly in the wall when the big country leaders get together to talk about diplomacy, thankfully most of the time it works, and keep the world balance and a peace, or as close to peace as it can be.
