Let's keep in mind Sunak allegedly called the 'surprise' election as he doesn't "want to be remembered as a wartine PM". He made that decision unilaterally, going straight to Charle's and THEN announcing it in the Commons and even by-passing his own Cabinet.

I think the aftermath of 9/11 showed quite clearly that the USA has many allies.
What makes you think 'America has no allies'?

....so it's time to direct all resources (our money) towards making our quality of life better.

I fully understand that more should be done to improve the quality of life for ordinary, everyday US citizens, many other countries feel the same. And I get that you want to put the American people before illegal immigrants and criminals etc.
But Isolationism does not work, it never has and it has never served the USA very well in the past.
And whether we like it or not we live in an ever increasingly smaller world that is interconnected in so many ways.
Shutting yourself off from the world outside the US is simply a case of burying your head in sand and will only result in you getting shafted up the rear end.

Yep, Zelenskyy’s pity party is about to come to a grinding halt. The next time he comes prancing over here on his Beggars Banquet Tour begging for more money he’s going to get a rude awakening. I don’t think the US will drop Ukraine 100% but chits going to change. I don’t think we should be involved at all in this conflict, especially giving them weapons and money that’s escalating and extending a unwinnable war. Neither country is a NATO member so why are we even involved?
