Thats not even the case though. Ukraine has been making offensives and holding Russian territory. The tables have turned. Ukraine no longer has anything left to lose. Russia is on the losing side now. With this approval, Ukraine can go all out and take over more of Russia. Russia has lost the advantage. This is a proxy war between NATO and Russia… and NATO is winning. Ukraine has been extremely chained down in their usage of NATO weaponry…. But now, that seems to be changing. Idk what Trumps plan is to end the war… but things seem to be escalating quite quickly before he takes office. And you are absolutely right. We cant back down. Thats just not an option. Escalation of force is the only foreseeable way this is heading. Its no good for anyone. The US and NATO can not back down. We will look weak. If we do back down, it will be because heavy concessions are made from Russia.
Then there is the fact Russia has NK troops on the front lines… that right there poses a global threat. NK troops learning conventional warfare… south korea isn't gonna be happy about that. Not true at all, wishful thinking. Ukraine captured a tiny fraction compared to what Russia took from Ukraine. Less than 1%. Ukraine lost their money making provinces full of gas and oil and gained a tiny bit of Russian land in return. And sadly Russia is still gaining territory, and have been doing so for the past year.

If Trump tells Ukraine he will pull the plug if they dont cooperate in the only 2 somewhat reasonable outcomes it will only get worse for Ukraine. On the other hand if Putin doesnt cooperate in one of those 2 options it will give EU/US a reason to start deploying troops and it might get worse for Russia.

Just a silly question. If Zelenski has been given all these weapons by all the NATO powers just why does he need permission to use them? Now looking from Zelenskis view if he took that decision the resulting sh#t storm would be on him alone, no matter who had given him the weaponry. Bbuutt, with him showboating by getting permission off Biden is how NATO gets dragged into the affair.
