Harris' plan is actually designed to give benefits to smaller companies.

Except competitive capitalism requires competition. Not conspiring with your "competitors" to keep prices high so you all maximize profits.

Wake up man. They are trying to put the little guy out of business. The big corporate boys wont be bothered at all.

Forget owning your own business. Just go work at Walmart. That's the idea. The elimination of competition.

I wonder if a Kamala administration will fight this so-called price gouging by biased price-fixing.

What is to stop them from saying gasoline-powered cars are over-valued, but electric-powered cars are under-valued?

What is to stop them from saying that homes in your area should be sold for less?
Or, that your car is worth a lot less than you're asking for it?

Essentially, we would be putting them in charge of determining our personal fiscal equity based upon their personal politics.

What's to stop them?

Nothing.

Exactly.
It's the other side of this coin.
They can easily politically weaponize this to further their own power-seeking agenda.
Your home in this red state is worth less than you want.
Your home in this blue state is worth more.

Your electric vehicle is more valuable than your neighbor's gas-powered car.
That's just the beginning.
Those foods we don't want you to eat will stay expensive.
Those we want you to eat will be cheap.

Look at California if anybody wants an economic model, the chasm between the upper and the middle and lower classes continues to expand

here's a million-dollar home in LA

Isn't that what they just did to Trump? Said he owed over 500 million.

Many small businesses ceased to exist due to forced lockdowns, and many of those that tried to weather the storm ended up being bought out by larger corporations.

11 million acres of agriculture land hs been lost in recent years with close to half being from rural development, the rest being bought out by larger operations.

If you look at Vangaurd, Blackrock and State Street you'll see far fewer corporations as everything comes close to monopoly level.

Government control is a slippery slope; there are many examples as to why covernment price control is a very bad idea.

First, and most importnt is what happens in any sector the government takes control over. Public education that's forced to follow federal guidelines and teaching material.
The ACA. VA, social security, bailouts of companies with horrible business policies, subsidized housing, Child Protective Services....the list is endless.

Kamal can pick and choose who to control prices on. We all know-or should know-how lobbying works. Any business you waant to end can be price controlled to death, until thier only choice would be to go under or sell out-to a larger corportion.

The more businesses that get absorbed into fewer and fewer larger companies the more power/control the government has over consumer options. Monopolies are supposed to be illegal, but near-total monopolies get a pass, even though their control can be traced back to three companies that skillfully shift control to skirt around laws.

If Kamal really wants to reduce food prices the place to sart would be making it illegal for places like Saudi Arabia to use our farm land and have unlimited water usage while denying local farmers the water they need to grow food for Americans.

Lower energy prices so farmers can better afford to keep operating. Reduce government regukations, such as experimental vaccines to keep cows from farting.
Outlaw selling poltry and hog farms (plus land!) to places like China.

I really don't want to give the government the ability to micro-manage what I can and cannot buy. I don't want socialism and anybody who really believes liberal policy isn't leading to this very thing hasn't done their homework.

Wait...What happened to 'Bidenomics'?
A few weeks ago, she was saying that would fix inflation.

Yeah, I had to look up the definition of a couple of those words... but yes a Karl Marx-approved economy. The general public will be allowed to exist under control with a low one-story ceiling and no hopes of building a better life.

My brother was talking about our industry in the 90s, and how it's collapsing multi-decades-old companies and businesses. Pretty soon there will be one supplier and one buying office, and the day will come when the one buying office says no to buying from the one supplier, and the industry is finito.

let the government control pricing. What a fantastic idea! What could possibly go wrong.

Now what I really want to see, is the idiot lefties here try to explain why this is a great and brilliant move.

You are soooo negative !!!

Look at the swell job government is doing with US Postal Service !!

Don't you want to see that extended to price controls ? Have farmers line up to a government desk and argue with some DEI clerk as to what little price they can charge for their crop ?

Much much better system......

Funny how the mainstream news is campaigning for Kamala... since day one.
And only negative news on Trump.

And now we know why the best strategy for Kamala was to not speak and not cackle, ever, but she couldn't even do that right. Somewhere Jill biden is wearing an old victorian seat cushion designed dress laughing drinking a bud light.
