I will translate ahead of time...

Summary - "You'll just have to wait until I'm elected to see what my plan is really all about. Okay?? Because, until I'm elected I won't be president, and I can only be president because I'm elected, and if I'm not elected then I won't become president, because presidents have to be elected. And, elections are not tomorrow, but in the future, and the future is not today, and yesterday is just tomorrow the day before yesterday, and the future is...well, different. So, when the future happens it won't be today, but we can hope in the future, but today is not the future! See, when we fight, we win! Thank you and Gawd Bless...uh...Everyone."

That was far more coherent than a real life Kamala word salad, but you get an A for effort.

I'm thinking Executive Orders should be forbidden. I don't like it when anyone issues an Executive Order. I personally think they violate the Constitution.

I'll wait to hear what the experts say. It certainly can't be worse than their appraisal of Trump's proposed policy.

I’ve never heard an expert in favor of sweeping price controls.

There are better ways to address the economy. The politicians implementing such controls don’t understand the ramifications or fallout of such measures.

Edit: it’s also going after a symptom, not the root cause. I’d say inflation is the biggest factor in higher prices. Work on inflation since that is something in the scope of the FED instead of going off the reservation and doing regulations that would be mostly new.

Remember those supermarkets in the Soviet Union?

Kamala wants that for us.

About 10 years ago the average retail cost of our best-selling item was $225 now it's $475, and thats with a conservative 40% or more reduction in the overall customer base.

All the while all expenses incurred to do business have increased the same if not more.

I don't know about other sectors but ours is heading for another culling of long-time firms.

You know, in all candor, I don't think she consciously 'wants' this for the American public, but I do think she and democrats alike are not smart enough to realize that a welfare socialist society will lead to this. And, when this happens, it will push the government ever towards a Marxist state and ultimately into a Stalinist dictatorship.

The big takeaway from this is that they either don't understand what that means,...or they don't care.

Bottom line - They just don't get it.

I'm sure Lenin and Stalin and Khrushchev, et al, didn't think their policies would turn the Soviet Union into a Marxist/Leninist toilet either.

No, they likely didn't, but they did believe it would work. There was no precedent for them to analyze. Now there is. That's a big difference.

To them, it was an experiment. Their experiment failed, AND it has failed every single other place it has been tried.

There is one other big difference (well maybe not so big); they viewed the common person no differently than a slave. They didn't call them "slaves", but that how they treated them; they were just a 'commodity'. They also believed that the elites were necessary to inspire the "have nots". This has been proven false over and over. But again, there was no precedent for communism before them. Prior to that point was just thousands of years of monarchy rule. Communism was just a formalization of monarchy into a government structure. So, in this context, this was the only precedent.

This is all they could muster? in North Carolina? where is this a middle school lunchroom?

If thats all she can draw in Raleigh NC population is 460,000 and the Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill Metro triangle has a population of 2.5 million.

While she is speaking to a few hundred at most? Makes no sense any value is lost by the perception of small potatoes

Is this because this was an impromptu scheduled event.

I listened to some of Vance's PRESS CONFERENCE in Milwaukee, he can handle himself, and he isn't wrong about immigration without oversight, there needs to be a better plan.

The experts say there’s no price gouging.
Communism is worse than democracy.
Equating Kamala’s communist price control policy to a Trump economy is wild.

Probably a result of a couple of factors.

1. They don't really widely publish the movements of candidates for security reasons.

2. And yes, probably an ad-hoc event in direct response to criticisms about not making appearances other than planned campaign stops where Harris is clearly reading from the same script at each one of them.

Unfortunately, I'm so angry about all the shenanigans and BS going on right now, I can't bring myself to watch it. Ordinarily I would, but I'm going to have to sit this one out.

edit - Okay, I went to watch, but she's not even there yet, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna' wait on Harris.

Is it price controls or is she simply planning on going after companies and industries that are price gouging?

It's a fact that prices aren't coming down with inflation, meanwhile these companies are posting record profits. There's also several high profile lawsuits against oil companies, against dairy companies, against poultry companies because companies were conspiring to keep prices high.

Did you see what happened when Target faced litigation for price gouging? They were suddenly able to lower their prices.

In regards to going after inflation, that would come from the another major policy she has proposed that would see more low-cost housing created and new avenues created to assist people in purchasing their first homes.
