Doesn't matter if he was supposedly a 'great soldier' according to that guy during Walz's E1-E8 years. He failed at E9 and was demoted. He engages in stolen valor claiming to have retired as an E9 when he wasn't one. He engages in stolen valor by claiming to have been carrying arms in active combat. That makes him a bad soldier ... and subject to criminal prosecution.
