You can view his records here:

Source

He had re-enlisted for 6 years, but quit before his obligated service.

He abandoned his troops when they deployed to Iraq.

He falsely claimed to have served in war when he was never deployed to a combat zone.

You're quoting speculation as fact?

Even in that link, which is an X post it should be pointed out, the guy is speculating as to what could and could not be. And you quoted it as fact?

Did you even read it first?

Shameful, shameful behavior. Not only are you engaging in disinformation, you are attacking American military servicemen.

As someone who has served our nation, I have nothing to say to you right now. You should be ashamed of yourself...

Looks like it's catching up with him

Yeah. The Press ignored this during his runs for Governor...but it's getting noticed now.

This will be BIG.

will it simply be buried like Trump's assassination plot?

Vance sat in an air-conditioned office and only served 4 years

What the # is wrong with you.
Nobody is demeaning his service.
They’re only correcting the lies he’s told about his service.
He didn’t retire as E-9 like he’s claimed.
He also skinned out and quit when deployment was certain.
You’re demeaning Vance’s service in your dumbass know nothing statement.
Walz did the same when he himself talked crap about 19 year old army cooks.
Fix yourself.

He has every right to retire after 24 years. He deserved it.

He didn't finish the time of duty that he was signed up for.
He quit early, when he found out that deployment was coming.
He served just fine during the peaceful years getting easy money.
When the SHTF .. he bailed early, and that's why he's an E-8 and
not the E-9 he would have been if he had actually finished the
contracted service.

He's a liar....and a proven one.

He claims he carried certain weapons in war.
But he has never been to war.
So yeah ... proven liar.

Vance sat in an air-conditioned office and only served 4 years. Are we supposed to denigrate him for not being front line and getting out when he did? ?

Vance signed up for a specific length of time.
During that time he was deployed and he finished the contract time.

Walz signed up for a specific length of time.
During that time he got notice of coming deployment,
and he quit before his contracted time was up.
He bailed. Therefore he was demoted and can't claim
E9 as retirement but must claim E8.

It's not 'denigrating' to tell the truth of the matter.
That's exactly what happened.

No, it is not ok to denigrate anyone who has served when the majority of our nation does not serve. There are 2.86m service members in our nation; a nation of over 330 million people. That is less than 1% who serve.

Statistically speaking, only 1 out of a 100 posters here on ATS has served, which is why we are seeing these kinds of posts here on ATS. People just don't know what they're talking about, but they have a keyboard in front of them.

Vance was a correspondent, but that does not matter. A combat photographer is not a combatant, but they are doing just as important and dangerous work. He was assigned what he was assigned.

Everyone who joins up has done more than those who haven't, whether it's 1 year, or 5 years, or 24 years.

You're denigrating a man who served 24 years. Retired before the order came through months later regarding deployment, whom the military states retired honorably and states he can retire stating the rank he had at the time.

Neither man should be denigrated. I did not denigrate Vance.

What did I just say ?

it's not the amount of time you serve but the manor in which you serve.

Vance Served in the Marine Corp , Vance Deployed . As for him sitting in an Air Conditioned office .... Um okay were you in his unit ?

Wow! Walz chickened out for war, and someone else had to take his place. Then he claims that he is worthy and honorable? If any of that is correct, this man is a coward and a fool. Tsk tsk!

My dad joined at 17 to go to Japan and fight. Thats honor. He didn't Waltz away from danger. He ran toward it. Walz Waltz speaks volumes about his lack of character and backbone.

My buddy is getting out honorably before his unit deploys, his time is up, it falls just short of his units deployment schedule, and no he’s not reenlisting nor extending to go over seas, he’s done by choice.

Does that make him any less honorable?

To: Mahogani.

So the ACTUAL 'Retired Command Sergeant Major' who replaced Walz in Iraq doesn't know what he's talking about?

Did you even view his allegations in the link I politely provided you?

This could be his "Gary Hart" moment where he had it all, and the facts on his life didn't match the rhetoric.

If there was any issues with his retirement a Stop Loss order would've been issued. He retired months before his squad got their marching orders.

Fact check: False

Stop loss; Referred to first term troops who's initial 4 yr enlistment had expired, but their 8 year obligation had not yet been fulfilled.

I served 20 years kiddo.

Try peddling your BS somewhere else.

His time is up. He gets out just fine. No problem.

Walz time wasn't up.
The warning notice came out about an upcoming deployment
and Walz decided to retire before his time was up so as to
avoid deployment.

He was fine serving in peace time and collecting the easy money.
But then when the time came to actually do something .. he quit.

I'm starting to think most of the people in this thread are not Americans.

We don't talk # about our military like this, we never do, our pride for our service people is in our DNA.

That account exists solely to uncover false claims of service. In a non-partisan way.

It provides actual service documents(that are public records) that show Walz false claims.

You can humph and ha all you want.
