At "A"level and then at degree level reading Economics and Law until in my second year I switched to a straight Law degree.

Most Economists regard Protectionism and particularly imposing high tariffs on imports as being a bad idea, fewer jobs higher inflation and provoking tit for tat responses from trading partners.

Generally regarded as a left wing populist policy.
