was going to watch the night stalker METV, changed it to early. Star Trek TOS is on and it kohms and yangs / The Omega Glory
S2E23. one of the best ones.

That one was penned by Roddenberry himself. He seemed to do well with those "parallel earth" social commentary stories with a twist ending.

He also wrote the one where The Roman Empire never fell and the one that was a Vietnam allegory "A Private Little War."

He also wrote "Mudd's Women," which is almost universally hated. I didn't think it was that bad. Harry Mudd was also the only character to come back in another episode? "I, Mudd"

Dang now I'm racking my brains trying to remember if any other character was central to 2 episodes like Harry Mudd.

DS9 for the win.

I'm still torturing myself through Discovery. It is abysmal. I feel like it was written by 12 year-olds. They'll bring up captivating plot points then throw them right in the trash for some BS nonsense instead. I am shocked at how bad this show is.

The sci-fi is more like Harry Potter magic than science fiction.

I don't even mind all the gay and diverse overtones. But the writing is so bad it doesn't even do a service for wokeness and diversity...it just says "we presented diverse groups poorly because we couldn't be bothered to write anything decent."

It's a loss for everyone. It's an L for fans, an L for sci-fi, an L for LGBT and wokeness groups.

I am completely shocked producers were looking at this and giving a stamp of approval. Just so bad.

I hope Strange New Worlds is better. I am very leery of the future of Star Trek.

Strange New Worlds is better, not quite woke as discovery, but it is watchable.

I mean...the only good thing that came out of Discovery was Captain Pike. Always loved the 'Pike' lore though. I really like him portrayed in the Abrams movies.

I just like the idea of a young Spock + Pike situation before Kirk. "Cage" or "Menagerie" is one of my favorite TOS stories.

I also recently watched the movies 1-6. Love the Kirk + Spock moments. The movies really defined their friendship.

Glad to see you're still around, BernnieJGato!

Got one more PM for ya.

Been getting through Enterprise. About to start season 4. I think it was a lot better than we initially gave it credit for. I think fatigue set in when it aired. It also had a lot of missing potential much like Voyager did. A lot of woulda, coulda, shoulda going on with those 2 shows. But we just didn't know how good we had it then ha.

Damnit, I was literally just thinking of him and Wharf the other night. Wharf's great quote of "I suppose today IS a good day to die!" is a tattoo I am going to be getting to honor ,my appreciation of star Trek while displaying my own philosophy to life.

Tony Todd was a horror movie icon and has been in features such as Hatchet and Final Destination to name just a couple of many titles he has blessed the screen on. He will be missed dearly by myself and many movie fans around the world.

A question though, is there a Klingon alphabet of some kind that is like official?? like an actual known character series that can be attributed to actual Klingon?? I would prefer to get that quote inked in the natural language to demonstrate my ultimate nerd with my militant maniac.

Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam

well this is it.

But its like in our language characters. I know I have seen multiple times in episodes when they are at the comms on a battle cruiser or bird of prey seeing a native symbols for their language. I was hoping there was research into those letter characters.

I seem to remember, I think it was Worf, saying that Shakespeare was better in the original Klingon?

i'm pretty sure it was said first in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country by Chancellor Gorkon,

i seem to recall Worf liked some human plays, and opera, but loved Klingon opera. i don't recall him ever saying that.

That line always bugged the crap out of me. But Star Trek VI is easily my least favorite of the original six.

Am I supposed to believe that Shakespeare got translated into Klingon and that Kirk's Klingons would take an interest?

Seems to me that Klingons of that era would turn their nose down on anything that humans value.

I always figured Gorkon said that just to piss off Kirk and crew. Testing the waters to see who would correct him.

Side-note: I think 2 lines from Star Trek VI were inspired by real sound bites, one being the thing about Shakespeare, and the other being "Answer the question! Don't wait for the translation!"

Somebody just thought they sounded cool I guess.
