In Russia there is also a jury trial. They consider judicial matters only when the accused is accused of murder or another agonistic crime. Moreover, the jury is selected very strictly. They should not know anything about the crime, not have any connections, of any kind, with the participants in the process. If during the trial it is revealed that any juror has any connection with any party to the trial, then the entire panel is dissolved.
In reality, a jury trial is a street court, a kind of legalized lynching. Whatever location the jury is in, that will be the verdict. This is extremely biased. The law can be wrong. But he is the Law. If the rule of law is questioned, the state will collapse.
Don't destroy your state!

I called, asked for Bragg, but he was getting his balls waxed and couldn't answer. They said it wouldn't take long, but I just couldn't wait. So sorry, I just don't have the pull I thought I did.

To be honest, I didn’t understand anything from your comment. The only thing I learned is that you are worried about the verdict and about your country. Good luck to you!

We'll see what his sentence is, but we should all hope for leniency, at least a degree of it. After all, this man represented the highest office in our land; out of respect for that office, some grace should be granted.

Do you think Trump respected the office?

No, I don't. But the office itself should demand respect.

Just because he decided to pee on it doesn't mean we need to enable him and demean the office further. I think former presidents, even corrupt ones, deserve a modicum of grace in punishment.

If you take money not to talk; then you talk, surely that is a breach of contract?

Is a counter suit pursuable?

Me too. It would be unprecedented but I honestly do not put it past this judge. For sure probation and an ankle bracelet.

Will he still get to keep his secret service protection, due to this?

Ah, but that's because your porn stars are still disenfranchised. With dutiful recognition and liberation, an enlightened Russian legal system will elevate them to their rightful position as key players in the justice system

He's not freaking Bernie Maddoff. 136 years is absurd.

Not even Club Fed. 6 month suspended sentence to be served under house arrest. Ankle monitor, eventually probation or something.

If it's anything more than that he needs better white collar lawyers.

If he gets any jail time, that leaves him vulnerable. Think Arkancide. Think Epsteined.

For this reason, I hope he does not get jail time.

Due to the fact that he is entitled to SS protection for the rest of his life, prison is almost certainly not gonna happen, or if it did, it would be in some white collar hotel prison. No, at most it will be house arrest, along with surrendering of his passport.

That said, it is also entirely possible that his sentence will be suspended pending appeal, and this usually depends on the likelihood of the conviction being overturned, which this will certainly be, if not at the NY Appellate or Supreme Court level, then unquestionably at the US Supreme Court.

Do you think Trump respected the office?

Far more than Biden, or most any other recent President in history.

he will be killed by an ultra MAGA right wing nut job Christian. No, that makes no sense, but it would be a fitting entry in clown world. The only thing better is that if the RWNJ was a dude who pretended to be a chick.

He'll be sentenced to 20 years hard labor in a facility to be determined by The New York Soviet Ministry of Punishment. 👁‍🗨

I think an appropriate punishment for him would be to force him to wear those ugly, gaudy shoes he was hawking with every outfit for the rest of his life. No more Gucci loafers or versace or whatever, he has to wear those ugly clown shoes every single day, no matter what he is wearing or doing. Every day for the rest of his life. Although that might violate the 8th amendment against cruel and unusual punishment.

You’d change your mind if you knew how comfortable they truly are. 👌
