I don't know what are these 'fake numbers' but Israel has already admitted they have killed at least 30,000 people. Likely the number to be much higher according to all other sources. They have also admitted they have killed at least 16,000 innocent civilians I.e admission of mass killings and their associated war crimes and crimes against humanity.

I understand you are trying to argue something they can't be argued but in the middle of the war numbers could be revised and it's likely the total number of deaths to be much higher than reported.

Israel has killed at least 30,000 (with at least 16,000 dead civilians). True number much higher.

You also forget Palestine is under occupation. They are the oppressed and not the oppressors. Doesn't mean I agree with the killing of civilians in both sides but the reality is this.

You need to consider that the fighting won't stop as long as one nation is under occupation by the other nation. Palestinians have the right to self determination and the right to have their own free and independent state and freedom from oppression. As Normal Finklestein said and is still saying: Gaza is an open air concentration camp!

This isn't a viable solution. By the way Normal Finklestein is Jewish and there are many Jewish who are very much against the Zionist State and against these ethnosupremacist ideas and apartheid.

The number ms speak for themselves I am afraid. Even the IDF has said that the ratio of the civilians to combatants death is 2:1 and not 1:1 as it was lately given by the Israeli Government because the International Condemnation of the mass killings oh civilians.

If they say they have killed 14,000 combatants with a ratio of 2:1 the number of civilian deaths is at least 28,000. Compatible with what the UN has said so far. The true ratio could be much higher by the way.

Contrary to how you choose to interpret the numbers the admission of 16,000 killed civilians by the Israeli Government is an admission of mass killings, war crimes and crimes against humanity. You can't kill so many without committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The title of this thread is at least misleading and has failed to convince. It's just an attempt to apologise on behalf of Israel and downplay the mass killings of innocent civilians. But in reality Israel is under sever pressure and isolated in the global scene. They have nowhere to go and most countries will arrest their politicians for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

What makes you think in a war casualties should be the same? Wars don't work that way at all. The side with better weapons will kill more people nature of war. There are always more civilian deaths then military. For example in ww2 China lost 4 million military casualties civilian casualties was 20 million. Even in ww2 US civilian casualties were more than military 416,800 military deaths 418,500 civilian deaths and they were a continent away.

If say hamas has 100000 fighters and the conflict is happening there you could easily expect between 300000 to 500000 civilian casualties just from historical perspective. But we aren't getting that kind of numbers because the IDF issues warnings before bombings.

Civilians will always bear the brunt of a conflict the only way to avoid this is not fight in the first place.

Contrary to the perception some right wing fundamentalist Christians have in the US, people in the middle east are not vampires and they won't eat you alive or suck your blood. The vast majority of them are just as ordinary as me and you and they want to go about their business and live in prosperity and peace with everyone else no matter how the are represented by the western media sometimes. All my trips to the middle east were great and I met a range of people including Jews and Arabs who had very little difference, hopes, and expectations.

In the middle of the war you dint expect CNN to independently verify these numbers. But there numbers are coming from the UN and other agencies that have verified them.

Israel has already recognised they have killed at least 30,000 people, 14,000 combatants and 16,000 non combatants. So you don't have any valid points there when Israel has accepted responsibility for tens of thousands of deaths. It's a rather desperate attempt.

Hamas lies about it being an Israeli air strike.

It was caused by a misfired militant rocket from Gaza.

Hamas claimed 500 dead, with no evidence even 100 were killed. Inflated the number of dead by a factor of 5.

Where Hamas reports militant deaths as noncombatants, and their terrorists pose and shield behind civilians.
