ETA
Also, ATS has not had any meaningful updates or fixes in a LOT of years....bringing it up to snuff may not be possible.

It wouldn't be easy but it's definitely possible.

You just need some people with good tech skills and a desire to do it.

You'd be amazed at what can be accomplished with that combination.

Hopefully the current discussion about ATS potentially going offline in a couple of weeks are based on a false alarm, but I hope others are also archiving ATS material in various formats.

I decided to save the posts' HTML on a database, that way I have the links for the images and videos.

Would you be willing to share that database, Armap?

I'd love a copy.

Excuse my lack of memory 😂. Someone shared, past stored data that is available. Could be in this thread or similar. I was surprised it was done. Give me time and I’ll look for.

Does an NDA apply to the dead?

NDA's do not survive the death of an individual or the death of a corporation if that's who it's with.

If SO had an NDA with Darko and Darko is dead, his hands are no longer legally tied.

If the NDA is with a corporation, the same applies if the Corp dies.

If Darko is just missing, I have no idea what the legal ramifications are, but if I was SO, I'd just ignore the NDA and see what - if anything - happens.

If there was ever a time to have some balls, this is it.

Curious what’s up with local #729?

Beats me...I've let my Union cards lapse now that I'm above the line.

Actually, I was Local 600 as well as SAG but still Union strong, Union Proud!!

Okay, I know you brought up that they were hiring was just curious. I was in IATSE for years. Been wandering if they would take me back at 60? My card also lapsed😭

Come on back! I'm 60+ and worked IATSE gigs until last year.

IATSE needs hands here in New Mexico!! Non Union indy's are crying for crew and paying better than scale; staying busy as an AD on these; Some age discrimination, not to bad.

I hear they need people in Georgia as well. Were you 399 also?

No, 729 only. Problem is they may pay scale but they don’t want to pay benefits it’s been a constant struggle between studios and non union productions forever.

No problems, but I would have to "clean" it first, as it's part of a larger database I use for my statistics.

So what time zone was the domain issued under? GMT?

Actually I found it: Zulu which is GMT.

Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2024-05-18T23:00:00Z

I'm in central time, so I'm thinking tomorrow 5pm my time.

At what time do we drink the Kool aid, lay down and put the purple blankets over our heads?

If I'm not mistaken, there was a designated person who did the purple blanket part (afterwards). They stayed behind and were the one who contacted the authorities.

Okay, as I’ve previously mentioned, I have a domain through Godaddy. I just got off the phone with them. I specifically asked them about the process of a domain, in the case of non-payment.

Here is the skinny:

- The site will go down from the internet within 7-10 days from May 18th (if there is no auto renew).

- The site will be suspended, but will still show in the owners Godaddy account for 30 days after the 18th.

- There is an $80 late fee (if the site is suspended) for the owner to pay the dues and keep the site within the 30 day time period.

- At the 30 day mark, the domain will be auctioned off.

- If no one buys it at auction, the owner retains the right to buy it back.

In conclusion, if there is no auto renew, ATS will go down some time between May 25th - 28th. As I’ve also previously mentioned, the owner would be the biggest moron on the planet to let the domain expire over a $34.98 fee to renew for a year. If this does happen, he’s either dead or in jail.

Or someone for whom the amount of money involved is not a consideration. Still all assumption.

Am I the only one thinking someone has already contacted the authorities?

I’m curious what the domain abovetopsecret.com would fetch. I think its worth quite a bit. Be nice if SO would weigh in on this, as we know he had it up for sale previously.

Just can't have much fun these days now can we!

Those "authorities" ...well they may be experts and all,
but I still blame them for not having nice things.

Is there anything (rule) in place to stop someone else from paying the $34.98 for the absent owner to keep this site open? I mean, does Godaddy care where the money comes from?

IIRC, you have to be able to login to the account.
Godaddy should be concerned about security and privacy to not allow non-account holders to access the ATS account.
