Well, I don't want to cause you extra work but if you wouldn't mind doing it, I'd really appreciate it.

I'll PM you my email address.

Thanks in advance.

We are all still here. Imagine if there were an incoming asteroid in which we couldn't affect. It just was. We don't know exactly how the asteroid will affect the Earth -- it may cause an ELE, or it may just devastate much of the world.

The 18th draws nigh. [insert mysterious music] No matter what happens, I want you ALL to know that I have loved, absoluted LOVED being on this ride with you. It has been an enlightenment, an aggravation, a joy, and I wouldn't have changed a thing; just like family, all of the above apply, and we have shared many things together. I hope nothing happens, but if it does, we are a unique tribe who dared to challenge everything. We dared to challenge the norm, and measure that which was not the norm, and that is pure, and it is scientific.

Much peace and love

The NDA doesn't matter at this point. I've been speaking to the owner of My Patriot Supply for a week now and all I have is more questions than answers. The only useful thing I was able to attain was a contact for Jeff. Jeff told me he'd look and see if he had a backup of the database for me. That might be as good as we get, if we get lucky enough to even get that. If we do get lucky, we're working on the logistics of the archive. I already have a general idea how to accomplish this, but it's going to be a process.

From what I've been told, Darko isn't in the country at the moment, and it's doubtful he'll be back any time soon. That's all I can say for now. Simply because we don't know what's true yet and what's not. At this point, I couldn't care less who really owns the place. I just want to make sure ATS is preserved.

If ATS goes dark, I will definitely miss it. I’ve been here for 20 years.

If I suddenly find ATS again one day and people say it never went dark, I will assume I jumped into another parallel Earth reality. Someone want to tell me something to prove to a different reality you? It may never happen but you never know.

That's too bad. I would gladly pay the $34.98 to keep it going and I'm sure there are many others who would too.

It would never be the same.
What made ATS great?

The people that actually cared.

If the plans are to convert to a paid subscription
type of site, there is nothing to set it apart from
another mainstream disinformation hub.

I find that I don't care anymore. A ship without a Captain is adrift.

I am going to a smaller ship that has a Captain and crew. It also has many happy passengers. I am tired of this #.

The IT guy that assisted the new owners in the transition. I don't think he had a username here, or I'd have referred to him as such. I'm going to follow back up with him Monday.

I think some here (not you) are missing some elements of the timeline of events. It is indeed confusing. There are actually two, parallel, conversations taking place and I don't think many understand this.

When we were going through the efforts early on (before I had to bow out) we were all dealing with what I understood at the time to be the founding owners of ATS. Subsequent to this, the site went through some sort of a transition to a new owner, but it was unclear if this was permanent or even real (I'm going to leave names out for the most part). This brought some new players to the table. I don't know for certain what happened after this, or whether the site reverted back to the original owners (whom we were dealing with), but then a 3rd set of players showed up. As near as I've been able to piece together, this is what many are referring to as the 'Darko' chapter. From that point forward everything goes silent and mass confusion ensues.

The point here is, I'm not sure anyone really knows what the status of the 'real' ATS is. It would appear that at least some of the archived original data is still here, so that's one clue. As you and others have researched, the site hosting mechanism is known, but as we all know; this is different from the original. So, something happened, I'm just not sure what. I was gone for much of the madness during the Darko chapter (thank gawd); I had to take a break from it all (for some work out of the country).

I'm sure your efforts have come a long way since my involvement, and I hope they are still afoot (they may be needed more than you know!). It will be interesting (very) to see how things shake out in the days to come.

And to add to my post a moment ago, it sounds like you are dealing with the 3rd group of people I referred to in my post. I loosely term this the 'Darko and beyond' phase. This is where I believe some of the member questions and confusion is coming from.

I could be mistaken though, but this is why I deferred to you earlier in this thread as it sounded like you probably have the most current pulse.

In earlier days, we used to be able to like individual responses. I miss that feature.

Here we are, it's the 18th now. There *MIGHT* be a grace period of up to 31 days. However, we are inside the timeframe of any day, any hour, any minute.

It was a fun ride. I hope it isn't over.

We still don't know much more than we already did, which was essentially nothing. I do know that everyone involved at the top is aware at this point, and that bothers me way more than what I initially thought was neglect. I really can't speak with certainty on a motive, other than ATS not being the cash cow that they maybe thought it would be, but why not find another buyer instead of letting it just die? That part doesn't make any sense to me. At this point, I think ATS is on it's way out. I would be shocked if it were renewed, but stranger things have happened.

You still can (for now), just not in the 'Board Business' forum (which this is).

As I’ve also previously mentioned, the owner would be the biggest moron on the planet to let the domain expire over a $34.98 fee to renew for a year.

Can not somebody from ATS pay that fee $34.98 besides the owner, would Godaddy accept it
