Oh snap. You've been around as long as I have. I was jaymp after this account was banned initially, and shared an account with another member too at the time.

I have been on this site since 2001-02 , I would make a account do 3 posts then forget the password and start all over again so it was 2007 time i finally found time to access the internet as I worked 100 + hours a week every week .

I lurked this site using the search function for years reading all the old threads and the research the members had done .

I was slow to the internet , like most things in life but I soon catch up

It’s seems like the older your account, the more street cred you have, the more kudos and respect you get around here.
No wonder new members are always saying they have lurked since way back…

I think you guys must deserve a medal or something. Here you go

It's always been that way. At one point, we were all instructed to avoid the term "newbie" because it had taken on a bad connotation here. I suppose that's human nature. The cliques and the sects that people make up to try and make themselves feel superior.

Of course that isn't the case here. I'm just saying.

I suppose it’s the case everywhere. Human nature like you say, I was disappointed that people were so desperate to get their avatars back so quickly here. I thought of it as a fresh start and it would be fun trying to guess who is who. But I suppose I totally understand it too. When you have made all these posts and been involved in these huge debates it’s sad to see that history you were apart of just flicked away. Your avatar or alter ego no longer accessible.

The ego and what we get attached to is a difficult thing, sometimes those attachments are healthy and sometimes they aren’t. Letting go of things isn’t at all easy, but it appears to be the nature of our lives.

This site may or may not go down, the bills might just get paid by direct debit, with the owners deciding not to interfere or intervene…who knows?

All things must pass eventually so let’s appreciate what we have while we have it.

P.S I’m still waiting for someone to guess my original avatar, as a somewhat infrequent poster over the years though, I won’t be holding my breath

Okay .. this is HUGE ..

May 23, the day the site may go black, is also a FULL MOON.
Yeah .. that's right ... this place will go totally primal.
The werewolves will be out.
The May 23 full moon is also called the Flower Moon and it will be totally full at 9:53 a.m. EST.

Yep ... chaos and TEOTWAWKI meltdowns for sure! FULL MOON.

HA HA HA HA

Mine has already started. That's why I'm sort of back, here and there... I want to see what happens on May 19, one day later.

I'd either like to be here for the end, at a website I called home for nearly two decades... OR... I'd like to get closure if the website stays up, but is all secrecy and dark money, and we don't know who pays for it to keep going.

For me it boils down to this... after decades of knowing who the owners were and interacting with them frequently, it is something that we SHOULD know. I want it. I want transparency.

If it's something I should know, but don't know -- that's all I need to know. The website going on past the end date, paid by dark money will be enough for me to know for sure that there are dark forces behind it. I don't need to know who it is, I just need to know that's the way it is.

What are these dark forces if you don't mind.

I’d just like to add another tidbit, as the timing is a little ironic.

I just received an email from Godaddy for my upcoming domain name yearly dues. I’d post pics but it would dox me.

I have a damn good domain. The better the name, the more they cost. And your cost is always what you bought in at. So very cheap for above topsecret.com back in the 90’s.

However, it’s clever enough that all the yearly dues are is $21.99 for the domain, and $12.99 for extra security.

That’s a grand whopping total of $34.98 for the year. ATS’ should be around the same.

As we already know, the server fees are the bulk of the expense for the site. Those were due - and apparently paid, back in March.

Why would someone let a half million dollar investment+ go away for measly domain fees?

That makes absolutely no sense to me.

Therefore, I’m doubling down on my prediction that it won’t go dark in May — due to domain fees.

That does not mean it will not go down for different reasons. That are due to neglect. SO was clear that his janky coding needed much maintenance.

ATS has been my go to place for a long time , i dread to think how many hours I have spent surfing this site over that years but it was worth it .

We have members here who can run rings around the so called professionals
and do , luckily for me as I picked up more about my health problems on this site from well versed members than the so called health practicioners in my area .

And everyone is polite here which is a massive bonus compared to other places , but at the end of the day 20 + years counts for nothing if the plug gets pulled , just look at other CT sites out there and see just how many regularly delete or loose all the data on their servers ? .

This place is very unique and I am proud to be a member, I have been hit with the ban hammer a few times but always came back
.
