Hunter need to appear in a secure setting because of the classified material involved. That's why they want a sealed room. He won't because the classified stuff is exposing. 😀

And? Jordan was subpoenaed by a special committee. Special committees receive their authority through a full floor vote. The DOJ have said a similar process needs to be undertaken to establish authority for impeachment inquiries.

What was the results of the floor vote? And when was it? 😃

This is a lie that there was no Senate vote.....

It had no power. You know this. You are smarter than this. The 1/6 commission had no authority to do anything.

After the bill establishing the commission failed, the House of Representatives created the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.

wiki it man. It was not a valid committee.

The ACTUAL committee was sent to the Senate, as it should be, and defeated even though these people voted for it....

Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Rob Portman (R-OH), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Ben Sasse (R-NE)

All RINOs. You know this.

On June 8 the Senate released the results of its own investigation of the 1/6. It found nothing. On June 24, Pelosi announced the House would investigate these matters, and the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack was formed on July 1.

No one was indicted by the committee right but it was sure referenced in mid terms.

Meh. If Biden loses the election, he can pardon Hunter on the way out. If he wins the election, he can pardon Hunter on inauguration day!

We always knew you guys didn’t care about the Biden family crime syndicate’s crimes.
Anything goes as long as Trump isn’t hurting your feelings.

Isn’t MTG the one that distributed porn through an email list that included underage recipients?
Just asking.

When did she do THAT! 😀

I'm not arguing the findings of the committee or the makeup of it. I'm pointing out that as a special committee that was created through legislation, it had full authority to issue subpoenas. Such as the one they issued to Jim Jordan.

Now such full floor vote had occurred when Hunter was subpoenaed. It hadn't even occurred when he didn't show up in his deposition. Ergo, the impeachment inquiry did not have the authority to issue a subpoena and as such Hunter was not in contempt of Congress.

Does it hurt your feelings, think that Joe might pardon Huner? You didn't mind when Trump pardoned Mike Flynn, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, and who know who all else.

Yes. A public hearing stops the GOP from signing and outright lying like they did with Archer's deposition. It also means they actually have to show up and do their job, unlike with a deposition.

It also gives H.Biden an out because the classified material can't be introduced in an open hearing. 😀

A committee and a commission are two separate things. Each body of Congress is free to create their own special committees.

It would piss me off if he pardoned him and I’m sure he would, par for course. People are sick of seeing all the corruption of the Biden family and the democrats in general and want some accountability. Not the trivial BS they keep coming up with against Trump.

“It’s time to do it,” Stone told Greco. “Let’s go find Swalwell. It’s time to do it. Then we’ll see how brave the rest of them are. It’s time to do it. It’s either Nadler or Swalwell has to die before the election. They need to get the message. Let’s go find Swalwell and get this over with. I’m just not putting up with this # anymore.”

Let me make sure I have this right. You have no problem with Trump pardoning someone that was plotting the assassination of members of Congress?

He would have to plead guilty or be convicted of a federal crime for there to be a pardon.
Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution:
The President ...shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

Being as he was subpoenaed by an Impeachment hearing might be a bit difficult.

A pre-emptive pardon was granted by President Gerald Ford to President Richard Nixon after Watergate, President Jimmy Carter also pardoned Vietnam draft dodgers and President George H.W. Bush pardoned Caspar Weinberger. IMHO I don't think Hunter is that important to warrant a pardon.

Congress is not a law enforcement body. All they can do is suggest criminal charges to the DOJ. If they do suggest criminal charges to the DOJ, my guess is that Garland will appoint another special counsel that will ultimately decide not to pursue charges based on DOJ protocols previously cited in this thread.

newrepublic.com...

Even if no minors were involved, it may have violated some states revenge porn laws.
Who knows. There is something mentally wrong with that woman.
And of course Hunter is not an elected or appointed government employee.

I also believe she has “bear arms” and “bare arms” confused.

Just an all out creepy human.

If you want to believe he would actually go and do that, feel free. A little critical thinking and common sense might serve you better though. I don’t think that was anything more than tough guy locker room talk.

Mate why are you so willing to go to Bat for Hunter ? I don't see you lining up to take punches for anyone else even Joe Biden is not someone you just jump to defend . Of course you non-stop attack Trump and his former administration but I digress.....

I don't expect an answer but I thought I would ask.

Hunter Biden already pled guilty to the crimes under a plea deal. The plea deal fell apart, but I doubt he'd have a problem doing it again for a pardon.

You might be right about that. But, as I said before, "Bring it". I think Hunter would win that case.
