Further, this is the power Comer has.

The committee's broad jurisdiction and legislative authority make it one of the most influential and powerful panels in the House. Its chair is one of only three in the House with the authority to issue subpoenas without a committee vote or consultation with the ranking member.

It is part of his position. It is part of what they do.

Be careful, he just one upped you by saying the exact same thing.

The DOJ has the authority to decide whether or not they are going to prosecute anyone. In this case, their standing protocol is that any subpoena issued before a full House vote is held to authorize an impeachment inquiry is invalid.

Was Jim Jordan subpoenaed to testify at a fully authorized impeachment hearing?

He was subpoenaed by the J6 committee. A committee that was established by a full floor vote.

But that's not what you said. Why would you change your story?

When did I ever say Jordan was subpoenaed in an impeachment inquiry?

if you aren't smart enough to keep up with what you say, should others really be responsible for telling you?

FYI, I was responding to that.

The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Hunter Biden in early November, but the House of Representatives didn't even vote to empower the Impeachment Inquiry, which Hunter Biden was called in to testify for, until mid-December! The subpoena didn't even have any legal teeth when it was originally served.

Hunter consistently claims he would appear in a public hearing, but not behind closed doors. The Republican have been completely unwilling to negotiate with Hunter on this. So, even if they do vote to hold Hunter Biden in contempt, I doubt their charge will hold up in court, if the DOJ even takes the case, which they shouldn't, in my opinion, for reasons I just posted above.

No...its voluntary...no one can force you to sin a contract. I do find it pretty funny what lengths you will go to, to stretch things when it suits your opinions though. I don't remember you ever stretching things so far when we all were talking about twitter and facebook and youtube censoring things. Remind me what you said about that again?

No...it really isn't. No one forces someone to sign a contract...and they have every right to decline...but greedy people would rather take the money. Its not a bribe it is and incentive...and man...I really don't remember you taking this stance during all that coved censorship...

And? Jordan was subpoenaed by a special committee. Special committees receive their authority through a full floor vote. The DOJ have said a similar process needs to be undertaken to establish authority for impeachment inquiries.

That's not exactly true. When the subpoena were first issued Comer said he'd be willing to have people give a deposition or speak in a hearing. Hunter called their bluff and suddenly the story changed.

Are there special committees active now? I never hear any of them referred to as special committees.

That wasn’t a committee, it was an invitation only clown world circle jerk. Kinda like that Boston ‘whitey isn’t allowed’ Christmas party.
