I'm not sure you can just dictate your terms when you have a congressional subpoena.

Trump's team and his loyalists sure did. They negotiated the hell out of their input. It wasn't that long ago, your memory shouldn't be that short.

Steve Bannon – who defied a congressional subpoena and is set to go to trial on criminal contempt charges

I think Hunter would win if his contempt charge went to trial. So I say, bring it on.

And, Hunter Biden is a bloviated, loudmouth, radio/podcast public figure. Hunter Biden never did anything to ask for the spotlight he was thrown into. He isn't a public figure, at least not by choice.

Never did anything to ask for the spotlight?!?

If he wasn’t JB son he would already be in jail. Have you seen some of the stuff on his laptop?

Makes me sick to my stomach how people keep defending a pedo junky who’s had a silver spoon his whole life.

Poor Hunter , gtfo

I'm going to laugh real hard of biden gets impeached before any pardons can go out and the whole family goes down. It wouldn't scratch the surface of the corruption but it would be a start.

Not anything that he published, just the revenge porn that the GOP put out there. Hunter Biden wasn't ever a public figure, and never presented himself to be.

Thus, the argument that he shouldn't have a public hearing because he's going to turn his hearing into a circus, like Steve Bannon would have, had he been given the public hearing he was asking for is invalid.

And well he should. The first subpoena was before the affirmative vote by The House for an impeachment inquiry. And, he's trying to negotiate for a public hearing, not a private hearing. His attorneys are also negotiating on the scope of the questions.

That House committee does not need an inquiry. He did this as a stunt. You know it. I know it. He knows it. Joe knows it.

The reason they want it public is to televise and have the press so they can make it a bash Trump session like the Progressive Congress does with everything.

Why would you want something public that could embarrass your family?

The deposition they're seeking is in regards to a potential impeachment of President Biden. Per DOJ protocol, they won't enforce any subpoenas related to an impeachment inquiry unless a full House vote is taken authorizing the inquiry.

Well, because these guys lie about what secrets they hear behind closed doors. It's harder to lie to the public about what was said when there are videos of the hearing.

At any rate, Hunter Biden is in court now, so I doubt they can force him to talk about anything about his ongoing court cases, his defense or comment on any of the relevant evidence. I see him taking the 5th, A LOT! LOL

don't worry, Raskins will come out during the break and tell the press lies about what was said so he can dominate the news cycle long before a republican can explain what was said.

And the smart folks will just wait for a transcript. But again, you do you.

That’s comical.

The Dems have been lying about Trump for 8+ years.

Kind of like Archer's deposition? Oh wait. In that case GOP members that didn't even stay for the full thing were busy telling lies about Archer said. Only for the transcript to come out and everyone could see that Archer testified that he never saw Hunter discuss business with Biden.

Funny how the GOP haven't brought up Archer's testimony ever since the transcript came out.

I know what you are referencing.

This specific House Committee also does not need 'permission'. 1/6...not a real Committee. House Oversight. Strongest in Congress. DOJ should enforce.

Specifically, the Committee on Oversight and Accountability chair is only one of three people that can issue a subpoena without a committee vote or consultation with the ranking member.

The DOJ should enforce based on that alone.

So if one person out of dozens say he never talked to his dad about business it means he never has?
