Two IDF soldiers were killed in the Tuesday assault on Hamas’s Central Jabaliya Battalion compound, located in the Jabaliya refugee camp inside Gaza. Israel is battling to destroy Hamas and end its rule over the Strip after the group’s devastating terror attack earlier this month that killed over 1,400 people in Israel, mostly civilians.

According to a report Thursday by the Ynet news site, Hamas sent a group of 100 women and children to act as human shields to protect the compound.

“We are prepared for more incidents of such cynical and blatant use of the population,” said an unnamed IDF officer who apparently witnessed the incident.

Soldiers who have been in intense combat for months and have been continually shot at and continually having to dodge booby traps, are going to be quick on the trigger in tunnels that they are clearing out of terrorists. COMMON SENSE. While tragic, it's not unexpected that mistakes are going to happen. It's war. They do.

We spent 20+ years in the ME, and what did we win? Nothing.

We left Afghanistan in humiliation. I had friends that lost so much there. And it was for nothing.

We lost in Vietnam.

We (the US and others) are spending billions to prolong the war between Ukraine and Russia. We aren't funding so they can WIN the war. We're funding to PROLONG the war.

We stopped actually winning wars in 1945.

When I say all wars are the same, I mean that there are sides and they want the other side(s) to surrender. They do this by killing.

So back to your question. . . . Israel should fight to win. Israel should beat them so badly that they never want to try an Oct 7th again.

Israel should beat them down, piss on their graves and so utterly beat them that they never want to try this again.

That's also my answer for what Ukraine should do as well.

Prolonging wars kills more people, enriches the MIC, and does nothing for us poor peons.

Pretty much, the claims of genocide are so far groundless and make a mockery of actual genocides like the holocaust, Rwandan, Bosnia or more recently Turkey vs Kurds in North Syria - there's a humanitarian crisis in Gaza but its in no way comparable to gassing, necklacing or summary executions.

There should be a full investigation into this incident as at the very least it was firing against IDF orders/rules of engagement when white flag displayed. Personally I wouldn't hold the shooters criminally responsible but the mistakes made and lessons learnt should be applied to further troops training to screen out or better equip people to make the proffesional grade that requires clear thinking even under unimaginable stress.
