Did Hamas give an order to ceasefire on October 7th?

Because if they had and what happened was due to a few trigger happy wingnuts I don’t believe we would be where we are now.

Israeli command gave a ceasefire order and it appears at worst, some individual soldiers didn’t take heed.

In the big picture, I don’t see how this can be construed as a IDF issue.

I hardly think that shooting hostages on purpose provides any strategic or PR advantage.

Nah you are learning little. The IDF are out to kill as many Hamas as possible. Please remember Bibi stating the Hamas are "dead men walking" and the IDF is going after them in that manner. Shame for the innocent hostages sure, also for the innocent Arabs too, yet the game plan is the elimination of any threat from the entity known (at present) as Gaza

I can see it doesn't matter to you, but I am going to guess you have seen no combat and are therefore out of your element here.

This would be court-martial-able offense for us. In war, or any conflict, there are laws against shooting prisoners, people giving themselves up, and especially signaling that with a white flag. An internationally recognized symbol. Link

When a weaker side surrenders, it means they are giving up and they want to negotiate. This was an execution.

Anyone who sees this and doesn't report it to their CO would also be an accomplice to these crimes.

The IDF are fighting to win this one. You can go all 'hearts and minds' like A the Brits in Afghan and realistically achieve jack sh*t, or go full on in like B the Soviets in WW2 and eliminate the terror by destroying the Nazis for good. Looks like the IDF are going for plan B

Of course the IDF are fighting to win, and I know that Palestine is fighting a losing battle but I also wonder if Israel has really considered what "victory" is going to mean for them in the long run.

Survival Bruce. Simply survival. WW2 ended for basically everyone in 1945, maybe we can state 1989 or 1991. Yet for the people of Israel WW2 never actually ended. They are still fighting it

I'm not talking about paranoia, I'm talking about accountability. Killing the hostages is not like a video game, as you said recently. That's murder in any other country. What do you tell the families? What are they going to see on TV? Oh right "blame the Palestinians for putting you in a spot where we have to retrieve you because we have no trigger discipline at all, like zero, but it's their fault" I would be pissed.
