IMHO The realization of the truth is often over the top and why the accountability the same truth can be so brutal.
Doesnt change the reality that socialism and communism lead to oppression by taking your free will. Jesus wanted people to have free will.
Humans are born sinners. Without Jesus and forgiveness humans will always self preserve to a fault. Whether its greed, glutton, lust etc

We'll see. My faith being restored was all about you showing up as you. Let's see how willing you are to have a real discussion

We use these terms politically nowadays - as both weapons and propaganda. There's almost no way we can use them in this conversation unless you want to have a little talk about what they actually mean to each of us - without the spin
Nothing can take your free will if you actually have it. The system is irrelevant
Also, can you show me an example of Jesus saying he wanted us to have free will? You say he wanted us to have it, but you didn't explain then why he decided to preach
Jesus was not materialistic. Would you agree with this?
Humans are born sinners. Without Jesus and forgiveness humans will always self preserve to a fault. Whether its greed, glutton, lust etc
We are born sinners - with free will. We will always choose self preservation
Is this accurate though? Do we always choose to protect our own interests? Sometimes we save others
About this:
The poor you will always have with you
What is Jesus saying here?
Thank you - in advance :-)
I think its just stating the obvious about human nature. Some people are more like the ant and others are more like the grasshopper.

There's a little bit of synchronicity. I've had old Aesop on my mind a lot lately - this fable specifically
I don't see Jesus as being an ant kind of guy. Or a grasshopper kind of guy for that matter. Maybe lilies of the field is closer
I think we have a language problem here - and probably the fault is mine
What I'm wondering is why you won't answer the question about why Jesus chose to preach. Maybe you believe you have answered it, and I'm just not hearing you?
And then, where did Jesus say he believes in free will? I have it on good authority that free will doesn't exist. So. There's a monkey wrench. But whatever - I just am wanting to understand why you believe Jesus actually wants for us to have it.
I think one of the reasons Jesus came was to bring the truth that was distorted by the pharisees

I think the Pharisees belong in this thread. I also think you and I might be as Christian as each other
I was just thinking that the New Testament would probably get on Jesus' last nerve ;-)
Here's hoping for a better New Year for all of us Navigator
Why do you think it would get on his last nerve?
