Was there a French Connection too? 🤫

Oddly, that was speculated.

Pre-9/11, and online persona known as "DoveOfOneness" was self-proclaimed to be a French operative, and posted a great deal of nonsense on RumorMillNews. In-between the nonsense of posts in July of 2001 were indications that an attack would happen in late summer.

This supports the more pragmatic notion that the "terrorists" had some level of support, but that the outcome of a catastrophic fall of the WTC was never anticipated. Hence the cover-up, and infiltration of 9/11 Truth.

Back to the original idea of this thread, and the CIA manipulation of "Conspiracy Theories," the absurdity of the earth being flat is like the apex of the injection of stupid into the conspiracy lexicon.

Obviously, the flat-Earth theory was created to deflect away from the real story of the Great World Turtle . . .

The World Turtle, also called the Cosmic Turtle or the World-bearing Turtle, is a mytheme of a giant turtle (or tortoise) supporting or containing the world. It occurs in Hindu mythology, Chinese mythology, and the mythologies of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas.

. . . In philosophy
The regress argument in epistemology and the infinite regress in philosophy often use the expression "turtles all the way down" to indicate an explanatory failure based on an explanation that needs a potentially infinite series of additional explanations to support it

From what I can tell people believe all kinds of weird things and that is not limited to CT. That is more humans in general.

We are trained from the moment we can understand to believe all kinds of outrageous crap.
If you want to talk weird things mainstream people believe first thing that comes to mind is: that the consumer could influence what and how the industries produce.
If we wouldn't get trained to believe in magical thinking and Santa from early on we'd be super hard to govern.

Not exactly true in the case of all Native Americans.

Some called it that because when we came here, North America looked like the shape of a turtle.

There were more than a few Tribes that had Turtle clans.

The Hopi, however, called the continent Turtle Island.

Because that's what it looks like.

From space.

The Hopi were the masters of space, their sisters the Mayans were the masters of time...

But that's a topic for another day.

Explanation: The flat earth conspiracy theory is all about atheists trying to deny that the God of the bible exists.

The earth is SUPPOSED to be flat ... that it isnt flat just shows that something bad happened [aka the fall of mankind] and that SATAN folded up the flat earth like an origami ball and they did a bad job of it ... its not a perfect sphere ... mountains and valleys PROVE that!

And because SATAN exists, God also exists by proxy and hence atheists are just plain wrong ok.

What now atheists???

Personal Disclosure: Oh by the way ... science says odds are that God exists ok ...

Odds on that God exists, says scientist

A scientist has calculated that there is a 67% chance that God exists.

Dr Stephen Unwin has used a 200-year-old formula to calculate the probability of the existence of an omnipotent being. Bayes' Theory is usually used to work out the likelihood of events, such as nuclear power failure, by balancing the various factors that could affect a situation.

The Manchester University graduate, who now works as a risk assessor in Ohio, said the theory starts from the assumption that God has a 50/50 chance of existing, and then factors in the evidence both for and against the notion of a higher being. Factors that were considered included recognition of goodness, which Dr Unwin said makes the existence of God more likely, countered by things like the existence of natural evil - including earthquakes and cancer.

Dr Unwin said he was interested in bridging the gap between science and religion. He argues that rather than being a theological issue, the question of God's existence is simply a matter of statistics.

Quantum Statistical Mechanics

Quantum statistical mechanics requires an apriori primordial observer [aka God] to collapse the infinite wave function down to a single crass reality ok.

So again I ask the atheists ... What now?

if you'd shrink earth to the size of a billiard ball, the surface would be smoother than anything we can currently manufacture...

it's not a perfect sphere, but its surface is super smooth...

Explanation: The flat earth conspiracy theory is all about atheists trying to deny that the God of the bible exists.

That's just one of hundreds of Gods that have been, and are worshiped.

But, with the Bible, keep in mind that what you're reading (now) in the KJV version is selected pieces translated by a group of people with an agenda and belief in a flat world as the center of the universe.

There are dozens of religious scholars that have pointed out that the "foundations," "firmament," "four corners," and other notions do not exist in the original Hebrew and Aramaic texts. They are inventions of 1600's authors for the Church of England.

In Revelations 7:1, John's original Hebrew was along the lines of "every distant nation." It was poorly translated into 4-corners.

In Psalm 75:3, and Samuel 2:8 is where "pillars" are mentioned in KJV. The original Aramaic was closer to God claiming to be the foundation (or pillar) that holds the earth firm.

Other passages that reference "ends of the earth" refer more to people in remote places in the original texts... and "earth" being dry land, as opposed to the sea/water, in those contexts.

Then there is Job 26:7 that strongly implies the earth is hung in space. And Isaiah 40:22 references the circle of the earth, the original text is similar and also refers to the heavens as a tent of nothingness forever.

That's what I recall, from a few years back when I last looked into this.

Its been my experience that the vast majority of flat-earthers are also Creationist Christian fundamentalists who believe the earth is only 6000 years old and dinosaur fossils etc are a deception made by The Devil/Lucifer or whatever you may call him.

Apologies, but if I'm understanding the rest of your post correctly you seem to be saying that God made the earth flat but Satan turned it into a spheroid.
In essence is that what you said?

I'm pretty sure it's just trolls and attention seekers.

I think it’s just a game to see who will jump on the flat wagon. But it is amazing the stupid crap flat earthers will pull out of their butt.

I get NASA is a government entity thus suspect to a certain point, but there does seem a deep hatred of NASA. The strange theme despite all the other countries that have their own space programs/ agencies is NASA is the gatekeeper of keeping the secret the earth is flat. And somehow China is onboard? And all the satellites and rockets launched into space are fake to embezzle money.

I think some of it is debating with people young enough not to have a 8 or 10 foot satellite dish in the background before WiFi and cellphone towers were prevalent. In the “dark ages” of home entertainment. 😂

It’s interesting the first guy claims this is crazy but here I am organizing a flat earth event.

Is it better to be a spherical earth nobody? Or be somebody in the flat earth world? It shows how one’s “beliefs” can change for a little attention.

One of my favorite songs and quotes

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

I always just thought the flat earth thing was a way to learn debate skills. If you can successfully debate that the earth is flat, you can easily win a debate on a topic that isn't bat sh!t crazy.

Interesting topic and I fully support most notions expressed by commenters.

I know if I wanted to discredit an opinion I would marginalize it by applying a label-by-proxy.

The term "one bad apple spoils the bunch" holds a lot of weight regarding this topic.

Flat earthers have always fallen into the "CAD" category for me. Meaning it shouldn't be a conspiracy theory because the proof or lack thereof is easily accessible. Charter a boat, pick a Pacific coast (Asia or North America I guess) and sail to the end. Live stream the edge or find out there isn't one. Don't have to go to space.....

What the hell!?!? Don't go knocking the Space Station conspiracy theory! I don't know if it is real or not...the one thing I DO know though, is that there are simply hundreds of videos where floating balls are added in poorly after the fact with a computer causing the astronaut to juggle with a ball that constantly clips through the hand or is caught and thrown by a ghost hand, astronauts fly through walls accidentally as they lose control of the obvious harness mechanism, wires and ropes get tangled causing the waist or over the shoulder rigging to become manifest and pulls at their clothing, hell, there is even a video of two of the astronauts in front of an empty greenscreen that many of you probably remember, an employee at NASA had left up on his computer so as the documentary makers your NASA and they are supposedly linked up to the space station to meet the astronauts, we are shown aboard the space station on one screen while just a screen or two down, you have the exact same live scene being shot on a green screen stage while the other screen shows no visible harnesses and a big high tech space station projected around them. Don't include that in the list of idiotic to believe conspiracy theories. It may not be total BS, but we never get a look inside unless it is a computer generated image with actors on strings, and that is simple fact.

Here's how I look at Flat Earth theory.

I know there are people around the planet, in some countries, whose job it is to destabilize other countries. And they sit around and they make up conspiracy theories that can push other people to think and believe things that may not be real and may not be good for their nation.

But imagine doing this job day in and day out, for years. I think they get bored. They're just people. And then they come up with some crazy, ridiculous, funny theories, kind of as a prank; just to see how many people fall for it.

I think flat earth is one of those joke theories they came up with. And they're laughing their asses off, wherever they are, that there are a few thousand people who who've apparently never been on an airplane before, who fell for it.

I'm knocking it big-time.

First, the overwhelming number of people at NASA, Roscosmos, ESA (European Space Agency), JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency), and CSA (Canadian Space Agency), and the all the contractor companies that were involved in building the ISS is staggering. Now let's add in all the other companies, employees, and families of employees involved in supporting the ISS. To think it's not real is profoundly misinformed.

I've seen many of the videos you refer to, none have convinced me of their claims. Have you seen this one below?
