Someone posted on this site about how the U.S. is flooded with crazy Antisemitic Hamas supporters, and what is the US coming to?”

Someone else posted that the Palestinian flag is antisemitic.

First, I have never seen or heard of anyone in a US based protest saying “yay Hamas, good job”. What I’ve heard is people protesting for better treatment of the residents of the Israeli-occupied territories. This concern reaches back in history far before the October 7th attack.

Second, if you are equating recent protests in favor of the Palestinian people with support for the attack on October 7th, recognize that people have been protesting in favor of the Palestinian people long before October 7th. While you may have no sympathy for Palestinians (based on what, I don’t know), it would be a good idea in my opinion, to understand how the state of Israel was created (politically), what happened to the people who already lived where Israel now is, etc. Just like you may have no sympathy for Native Americans, it’s important that we Americans at least understand that that we displaced people, signed treaties that were in some (maybe all)cases unfair. (“We’re taking your land bitch, but if you sign this paper, you can live on this reservation, until we decide otherwise”), and now we don’t want anything to do with them.

Third, despite the worthy efforts of the Israeli Government and Israeli lobby to redefine “antisemitic”, the terms refers to Semitic people as this definition from the Oxford English Dictionary show.
“Semitic - relating to the people who speak Semitic languages - especially Hebrew and Arabic”.

Fourth, if someone is confident in equating all Palestinians with Hamas, let’s also include all Germans as Nazis, all Americans as White Nationalists. (If you as an American haven’t done anything to stop White Nationalism, even if you don’t participate in it, you must support it, right?)

If you insist on perpetuating these ideas, I conclude that you:
1) either don’t know some of the things I’m referring to above, or you
2) you don’t care to speak the truth or
3) you are actively engaged in trying to rile people up with false and/or misleading information.

If you fall in the first category, you can research and learn more about the situation. (No I’m not going to recommend the any favorite books or anything. Read broadly, and draw your own conclusions).

If you fall into the second or third categories, may I respectfully ask you to do your business elsewhere?

The ones who are here to proselytize, tend to be the most vocal.
The ones who are here to learn, tend to sit back and do a lot of lurking,
or will rebutt something with one comment then sit back and watch the replies.

The same tends to be true IRL.

A majority, peaceful or not, has always been and will always be hobbled when a minority, violent or not dictates the narrative. That is not proselytising for one side or the other in this or any historical, current or future situation and it's as tragic as it is factual.

You can always tell how the thread will go when you see who starts off with the ball licking.
They look very similar to the post above.

Oh goodie! Another lecture thread.

Do my business elsewhere? Like a different social media site? Or thread?

It's highly possible some of these posters are white nationalist posting from mass incarceration. When I hear the worst of the worst, I can only assume they are, or on there way there.

Good thread S&F

Not really, Americans were extremely reluctant to get drawn in to another war and only did so after the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Many Americans had/have German heritage.

Palestine is full of and run by militant Islamists, just as US inner cities are being overcome by violent gangs.

Every time an inner city thug with a 30-year rap sheet of violence resists arrest and ends up dead because of it all hell breaks loose, so I can understand the mentality that wants to give Hamas a pass.

Up into the 60s where I grew up. If you had a German last name, there were parents that wouldn't let you date their kids.

What white supremacy? Oh yeah, I grew up in the SW. Lots of Mexican, Spaniard, Irish, NA all mixed up. Some Germans too. Basically, anyone that was unwelcome on the East Coast or left the ruined South, or fled the Dust Bowl. Poor whites.

For a start you can stop your proselytizing and I'll help you learn, if you would care to. I just posted facts that some on ATS will not like, maybe you. Firstly, the Palestinian flag is Hamas. Just like the Stars and Stripes represent the USA and that is represented by the US government. Palestinians voted in 2006 (that's the Palestinian people) for Hamas to be the controlling faction over the Palestinian territories and THAT makes the Palestine. And as been published many many times the ultimate goal of Hamas/ Palestine is the eradication of all Jews. Notice not Israelis but Jews wherever they may be. Now if that doesn't hit you in the face of being anti-Semitic I don't know what will.

As for all Germans being Nazis, well according to the history books Germany in WW" was a Nazi state. OK, there were some that weren't but the vast majority were. And in Answer to AllisVibration, yes the Americans did do that, go and ask all the Japanese civilians that were under the 2 mushroom clouds.

Now that's enlightened you to questions 1 and 2. Lets see if you come up with 3.

Oh, I almost forgot your first point. Obviously you must have been watching limited coverage of these protest because I've heard them chanting "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free". Now if you think that chant is innocent then there is nothing I can do for you.

Political debates usually get heated with people becoming overly emotional and radical. Confirmation bias leads to the inconvenient facts being ignored. However, you're new here. If some people here enjoy throwing sand at each other, let them throw the sand to their heart's content. It's a pretty harmless pastime. It's not that more Jews or Palestinians will die because of it. The forum debates will not decide the fate of this conflict, which will probably drag on till the freaking end of the world.

If you find radical views and emotional political debates tiresome or annoying, it would be more productive to move to other topics. Just like I stopped discussing politics with my family because it was pointless.

I'm largely indifferent to most political issues. I can hardly be bothered to argue with anyone. Perhaps, it's due to me getting older or generally disillusioned with the politics to the point I consider it all crap. But there was a time when I was ready to strangle with my bare hands anyone who dared to question my precious ideas.
