I fully support this as they who work in that industry already have to deal with crappy people all day yet are expected to pay bills while going through school and possibly helping to support other family members that may be unable to work or are just too young.
And fast food is a extremely large job market for unskilled workers and that is alot of people.
How are they supposed to afford a tech training program on minimum wage in a state that has a extremely high cost of living? Really think about that.

If she works fast food do you want her to only be paid the federal minimum wage? Imagine if she has no other skills and a child and cannot afford to take a cut in hours to go to school let alone pay for it.
You should support this.

That'll kill all the fast food restaurants and the jobs.
What a dumb thing to do.

It’s by intent

They’re already tossing out the idea of govt food stores, as they slowly kill the private food industry.
Every type of retail will be rolled up into this neat little communist plan for replacing private businesses.

Did ya stop to think that maybe some of the private businesses that only look forward to the best bonuses they can get have caused this? I'm not saying all did so but bad apples are a thing.
And now you want the lowest hanging fruit to be the ones that pay the price and ultimately cost the fed more when it comes to government programs?
Really think ma'am sometimes.

There are many many people working minimum wage in other industry in CA than fast food.

Why not apply your rational to all jobs in CA? Why not the people picking your lettuce? Why not people working in other retail? Why not janitors and cleaning people?

Why not $25 an hour or $30? Even better!

What they're going to find in California is a continuation of the upwardly cost spiral.

The same thing that American auto makers are about to do. destroying their Auto sales by giving workers a 40% increase in wages and more lucrative benefit packages.

You guys make it sound like its a lot. It’s really not. What do you want them to make $7.50 an hour? Do you want them on welfare?

That $20/hour needs to come from somewhere. And it won't be from the icky greedy evil (/sarcasm) CEO's pay, it'll be from the franchises who actually own and run these places. Who are likely looking in the mirror and asking themselves why they're doing this.

With the economy already crushing under inflation I doubt there's room for NFL-priced convenience meals on every corner.

I agree but sometimes a stepping stones is what's needed.
As of right now I see users fights for lower wages in the fast food industry here on this very thread.

Don't ever believe that my good member. They all know exactly what they're doing.
Not dumb they just like to play dumb.

Will the homeless still be able to gather enough recyclebles to buy a taco once in
awhile? Goodbye 39 cent taco from Taco smell. Love you byyy!

Newsome decided to go this route instead of giving black Americans in California $5 million each.

It needs to go up everywhere but there is a lagging effect.
As the value of the dollar declines all pay needs to rise to equal it out.

It's not that gas and food just costs more, the dollar is now worth less, so it takes more $ to pay for gas. A lot of nations around the world are moving away from the dollar. Although it won't be overnight, it is happening, and as these nations sell us back their dollars, and start using another currency, the dollar decline will speed up.

This is the new norm, we will have our crashes and climbs in markets, but make no mistake, the current system is going to zero. We will feel the pain until we accept the new digital system they are currently working on, but with everything, there will be a price. What is your price for freedom?

So you want lower wages then?
How do you guys not see how this will damage the image of MAGA? If this is your stance then show no support for the strikes for fair pay?

For one I don't think you fully understand what the whole issue is about and who would gain from it and two not the topic here.

Newsome the Marxist and self-proclaim dictator is playing with power to see how far he can go in the dumb state of California, he is getting ready for when he becomes president.

The things that he will do to the US in that position are unlimited, specially once he gets away with abolishing the constitution.

Are you guys serious? $20 x 40hrs = $800.
$800 x 52 weeks = $41,600 per year, before tax.

Low paying jobs are not intended for adults to raise a family on, They are and always have been low-skilled jobs intended for young people earning their way through college or saving for their first car while living at home, or retired folks looking to augment their SS with a little extra income..

Anyone who doesn't understand this is part of the problem.

This has nothing to do with an image other than those who would take this as a photo opportunity. It doesn't matter who is the upcoming president.
They may be able to slow the incoming Tsunami of countries leaving the dollar, but have no doubt that past and present presidents have screwed our future economy by using the dollar to sanction countries for decades. They used the dollar as a tool or weapon. Those countries, and others who seen the writing on the wall, did something about it. Some of these countries control a portion of the food supply, and in the future they are going to start using something other than the dollar.

So vote who you think is going to speed it up with war, or slow it down with diplomacy, but no ones stopping what is coming with the cost of living.
