They are attempting to have the monitor who is in charge of the Trump Organization. A federal judge appointed by James herself.

So, in other words, the banks recognized that Trump was providing them with bad numbers and they did what they could to compensate?

The prosecution in this case isn't out to prove that Trump Org was successfully committing fraud. Only that they had a persistent history of tying to defraud banks and investors.

The fact that the banks are saying they knew Trump's numbers were bad kind of proves the prosecution's case.

The representative from the bank testified that they didn't have the tools to valuate the kinds of properties Trump was trying to claim as collateral so they largely relied on the numbers being provided by Trump.

Trump shows up, and haggles over the loan. The bank who’s responsible to protect the money of the people that have savings in the bank and it’s investors just loan money willy nilly, don’t take the time to audit, don’t use third party actuaries, don’t take the time to do some deep dive credit report, and some how dealing with property and money can’t evaluate Trump’s collateral? Sounds like the bank needs to be brought up on fraud and misconduct charges too.

Anyway. The bank loans money out on its terms negotiated by contract with Trump who pays back the loan as agreed. Then all the sudden a judge has the “knowledge” to determine Trump property values when a bank stated they couldn’t?

They did not say the numbers were bad. They verified them.

Yes he has great relationships with banks and Trumps lawyer said that the value of Trump estates had very little to do with the loans. I agree they were far more interested in the proposal.

Now having said that Maralargo is very hard to value its a one of a kind place there's nothing else like it. This is why I've seen several realtors who laugh at the tax estimate which is not based on property value but instead income. Most realtors seem to place it around 600 million and said if billionaires start bidding could go for over a billion.

This is where Trump got his number from I think wouldn't be an issue if he had said 600 million on the loan.

When you go to a bank for a business loan every bank knows the numbers are inflated to the best possible scenario. What they are reviewing for the loan is the business plan. This will have the expenses the profit margin material costs and labor costs. If the bank thinks your plan will work and you will make money you get a loan. Assets are only a concern if it's a high risk plan such as establishing a moon base. Then assets become important for Trump that was never an issue he built things and those things had value. If he failed which he has the business give up all its assets and property to the bank. Yes when he failed the banks still made money in the deal. This is why they were not concerned with his assets.
