not to be picky but i'm not sure you understand it either, but there are areas thought will survive, the high weald between the north/south downs is where the gov would evacuate a chunk of london to, its why the area is devoid of major bases or sites of intest/production, no one is daft enough to simply accept the premise of threads as the de facto outcome, its why the gov has built its regional hqs in certain regions.
i didn't argue against any impact you suggested the uk would be wiped off the map which i said is not proven..
my history teacher got me into this is the 70s, she said don't believe all the gov propaganda our country is not the weak/nonsense we are told it is, if i push the boat out i spend at most £60 a week on food, its hardly the bank breaking exercise we're told it is, there is the fear and then there is reality.
edit to add, on your last point i'd rather be on a cat heading out to blue water with my kids and grandkids..
As they say, the only likely survivors are going to be cockroaches, and Keith Richards.
Well you realise that about 3 or 4 Russian Satan 2 plus accompanying warhead payloads could pretty much target all the major cities and surrounding infrastructure, and thats not even thinking about or taking in to account the incoming cruise missiles if they manage to get their Bears and other bombers off the ground and into any sort of position to launch.

I don't think any amount of preparation is going to help if the worst comes around.
The late Prince Philip described Switzerland as "Phobic hand washers living in a giant Bank".
New Zealand? Maybe a good bet.

Im about 2 miles outside the heart of Glasgow and about 20-odd miles from HMNB Faslane or thereabouts.
Again my gardens toast with not much left standing.
