How do you fix the wage issue when most people have no interest in moving to where the work is?

I doubled my salary by agreeing to a long distance move because they needed people, most people refuse to move.

Federal minimum wage would destroy rural mom and pop shops, on top of the above problem of people not going to where there is work and I dont see how it can be fixed nationwide.

Eventually there will be a UBI, but I dont think we are there yet.

Toss in diminishing returns on education, *shrugs* Danged if I know.

The operative word is "born" , not "person". It depends where a person is born to determine whether or not they are entitled to birth right citizenship, or if they have to apply for American citizenship, for example.

If you can kill a person who isnt born then why cant you kill a perosn who isnt naturalized?

Again, the operative word is "born", not "person".

what is being born? what do you have to be before you can be born or naturalized?

come on.. you are so close... its in the first sentence of the 14th amendment...

...all _____ born or naturalized....

is it citizen? fetus? unperson?

answer that then reread the second sentence of the 14th..

"born " has no more bearing on if you are protected than "naturalized" does.

why?

b3ecause all that matters is that you are a person.

Nope. You must born, somewhere, and be within the jurisdictions of the United States of America.

The 14th Amendment doesn't apply to all persons, just person born, naturalized and/or currently living within the jurisdiction of the United States.

so you arnt a person before you were born or naturalized? interesting take considering people have been charged for the death of unborn children and unnaturalized people... so that seems like a person to me.

but you are confused by a simple sentence, sooo no real surprise

eta

still waiting on where the 14 differentiates between person born and person naturalized...

they are both a "person" before their naturalization and before their birth. they both just convey citizenship on an existing person when a certain act is fufilled.

unborn children and unnaturalized people...

According to the 14th Amendment, you must be born to quality for citizenship, after that, all your children are entitled to "birth-right citizenship".

"unborn children and unnaturalized people..." are not the same. An "unnaturalized" person is merely a citizen of another country, not a US citizen.

but you are confused by a simple sentence, sooo no real surprise

If it was just me, you wouldn't have to lament how the 14th Amendment SHOULD protect the unborn, but it doesn't. But, it's not just me.

they are though.. and they appear in the same sentence...

all persons born or naturalized. they are both "persons"

then please explain how a person could be convicted of killing an unborn child.

Stardust!

Look, this is a philosophical question, best left to another, different thread. I'm only addressing the 14th Amendment here.

then please explain how a person could be convicted of killing an unborn child.

That law confirms and protects a woman's choice.

A person cannot be prosecuted under this Act for:
engaging in conduct related to an abortion for which the pregnant woman's consent has been obtained or is implied by law;
engaging in conduct related to the pregnant woman's or her unborn child's medical treatment.[19]
Section 919a
The law is enforced for any individual who causes death or injury of an unborn child in the utero at the time the conduct takes place, is to be guilty of a separate offense.[19]
Bars prosecution: of any person for conduct relating to an abortion for which the consent of the pregnant woman (or a person authorized by law to act on her behalf) has been obtained or is implied by law or for conduct relating to any medical treatment of the pregnant woman or her unborn child.[20]

Which all end up with no access to the aid they need, so they say.

Which is the point of the barriers, hoops and red tape.

Which is why government provided assistance is the absolute worst way to provide anything to people who need it.

So what are we to glean from this proposed new fetus tax credit if the government red tape's barriers work so perhaps only a few women can access the help while most can not?

Political positioning and playing to the base?

Nope, the proof is in the pudding that it is already not working, see my Georgia fetus credit tax fiasco source up on the thread somewhere.

Uhmmm. That's kinda how insurance works.

Only if someone is forced to 'buy' the insurance at gunpoint - you know, exactly like O'Biden tried to do to every American when they shoved Obamacare down our throats.

Actually, tax credits are pretty easy to take advantage of. You either qualify or you don't, so this would help pretty much any pregnant woman.

It would help working women who pay more taxes than the deduction would be. It would also help a two-paycheck household that pays more taxes than the deduction would be.

It wouldn't help low-income households that are already cash strapped.

quite obviously, the only way any of this would work is if it was a mirror image of Georgia's law, and no changes could ever be made, as that would just be wrong, so again, I concur and offer you wire hangars. I don't know why you cannot deal with such a win. Your logic is impeccable and your knowledge of how laws are formed is totally superior to mine. My dumb ass thought they could discuss things and make changes as needed during the lawmaking process. What a dope I am. So yes, totally never work, just look at Georgia.

no, you are totally wrong. You have been proven wrong by quintessentone. Georgia tried this and everyone burst into flames I think. regardless, it didn't work and that is proof enough for me.

If it were that easy to change or fix these problems why hasn't Georgia been able to do it to date? Don't bother looking for answers from their government because they ain't answering any questions about this, well at least not to Yahoo journalists any way.

I wonder how a tax credit for a fetus would work. Can you just send in the pee stick with the blue line, or do you need a certificate of pregnancy from a doctor? Do you get an extras credit if you're carrying twins?

New Research Shows Most Human Pregnancies End in Miscarriage

What then? Do you still get the credit?
