Where is personal responsibility for adults to take care of themselves and not get into these kinds of messes? Or get out of them?

Uncle Sugar also has welfare for people in bad circumstances. Need wasn't mentioned in this proposal was it? Every pregnant family will get assistance here, in addition to welfare. Isn't that enough?

The only thing I've seen the Left fighting for is the right to kill the kid so you don't have to worry about all that inconvenient stuff like breast feeding or changing diapers.

Where's the money for women's mental illness, post-partum depression, financial aid if their child gets very ill or if they get very ill, addiction etc. It's just okay to let women birth and rear children when they are suffering mental illness, addiction or are in a violent relationship?

With all the excuses you are trying to come up with to keep killing babies, maybe women should just never get pregnant eh?

Lack of sympathy for women facing undue hardship/burden is a serious concern for many people, obviously not for you.

Well, we already have the Biden child tax credits, right? And, a woman wouldn't see that tax cut for a fetus conceived, say in January of 2024, until April of 2025. So, it might make a difference for some people, down the line.

so that's two for the coat hangar. noted.

No. I'm saying it's too little, too late, literally.

yes, throw in the towel, everyone go home, and please don't forget your coat hangar on the way out.

Defeatist much?

You think a fetal tax cut a year or more after the fact, is going to sway a professional working woman who doesn't want a baby to have a baby?

LOL

Maybe she should just keep her pants on then.

The Moral Police have entered the chatroom.

Not me, far from it.
But I just thought you guys would consider a easier alternative to millions of abortions.

I like that non-answer.

You are against a measure that would help mothers. And your reason is politics. Disgusting.

when all you got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

I'm not alone in seeing this as a half measure, half assed attempt at what? Political positioning? If it even passes.

My God, the blindness you have is astounding. When the Dem's had control of everything, they did exactly jack sh!t about abortion, every time. Right now, this very minute, the R's are trying to offer something positive about this to turn the focus off of the SCOTUS ruling. So the point is, when it comes to politicians, yes, everything is political. The Dems could have fixed all this, but choose to keep it as a wedge issue, and it falls in with all the other wedge issues nobody wants to fix, as they serve much better as political cudgels. This is basic politics 101, you really need to learn a bit before you post much more.

I was kinda weirded out seeing this thread because I was just thinking about this. Women should get more time at home after giving birth and not feel pressured to go back to work so soon. The medical industry is no better, my wife got 3 weeks off after having ours and she is a. R.N. who works 12 hour shifts, most of that time on her feet.
You would think hospitals would have more understanding and better policies, but nope. Push that kid out and get back to work !!

From what I've heard, hospitals are among the worst. Which is especially disturbing given how the medical community is the new god of the left. Including the pharmaceutical industry, whom they used to hate, which is the biggest lobbying industry to congress, which they also used to hate.

The world is upside down.

The world is just fine, it's some humans that are and create the upside down.

You thought women are so stupid that they won't notice they lost the constitutional right to their bodily autonomy if you dangle a shiny hollow tin object in front of them, like the promise of a fetal tax cut they won't see until the kid is around 14 months old!

when they are too stupid to comprehend how the birds and the bees work, perhaps that's best. See, when a man loves a woman.....oh hell, I can already see the problem. Ya'll decided you don't know what a "woman" is, therefore the whole process is a mystery to you. Well, you did this to yourself. I don't like that if you agree mostly with one political side, that you have to agree to everything.
I'm a bit of a freer spirit than that and have to say, shame on everyone who condemns an adult woman to have a child against her will.
It's the same as forcing people to have an mRNA injection against their will.

Being pregnant isn't just getting bigger, it's 9 month of hell for some, some die because of complications and then an unwanted human will end up in the foster system, growing up into a criminal.

Meanwhile the mother may get deep depression.
The woman choses, end off.

Nature doesn't care about a few cells. It really doesn't. Sometimes Nature aborts all by itself.
What ya gonna do about THAT?

Seriously, those women who get abortions are either desperate or slags. The latter shouldn't be mums anyway.
The former will have an abortion regardless.
Evwn if she has to go to a backstreet abortionist.

So give it a rest.

When SCOTUS overturned Roe V Wade abortion stats were at their lowest since 1973.

Democrats made sure contraception was free and easy to get, and the Democrats pushed through the Child Tax Credit.

so all the bitching and crying is just for political gain? Wow, like a bunch of women on their period complaining about how men will never know the complexities of a woman's body, and in the next breath screaming that you MUST use the correct pronouns when addressing the man who is wearing a dress and wishes/demands to be called She/Her. For the record, this is why you are a clown.

Politics as usual. The GOP is just pandering to win back the woman's vote with what is a good idea but when push comes to shove; there won't be enough money to fund the program. It's an established pattern when it comes to actually helping people. Ladies, you're on your own....

in this instance, the republicans are offering a bill that would help women who chose to have the baby, rather than abort it. In no way does this bill limit the options for abortions, or change anything that exists now, it only offers aid to the family. I see it as a positive move, but as expected, the left doesn't like it, because it wasn't their idea. If it's different, I'd like to hear the argument. So far, the complaints are, too little, too late. Which is something that can be said for any bill ever, as they are all meant to fix a problem that already exists.

I wonder if everyone in this thread understands the OP.

wouldn't low income or no income families already be getting Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP benefits along with other benefits to the poor? If you gave me the option for a $2000 tax credit for free medical for everyone, I'd be all over the free medical. That sh!t's expensive. The one's getting it are getting a massive benefit. But if you feel they should continue getting more, suggest that, as this bill has only been proposed. it's not a law yet.
