You are right that it isnt the government's job to check bands and suchlike but it is their job to only hire the ones that aren't gonna go and flat out embarrass them.

You may want to replace embarrassing them with insulting them, as they see it.

You know morality isn't universal. Different moral values exist around the globe. The singer put himself in a difficult position but was lucky not to get detained and charged.

I agree, though it doesnt stop me believing that the people in charge of places like this that legislate like this and then spend money trying to not look like they do, are majorly defective.
