When in Morocco last Oct, it had not rained in the Atlas in 4 years. While travelling across from Marrakech to a camp in the Sahara, it rained! At at the very peak of the mountains there was snow! In Africa in Oct.

The most fun was the camels all coming out to drink water that had pooled in the gullys along side the road. Camels are soooo cool. Those buggers can run FAST.

Thats what I love so much about this site! All kinds of experts available to weigh in. Some actually know what they are talking about, so I don't mind admitting my total ignorance when that's all I bring to the room.

Have you even visited planet Earth lately?

www.bbc.co.uk...

Do you have excessive heat in the UK?!

I ve checked on the weather forecast and in the last 10-15 days the temperature is between 19-25 degrees Celsius. Well below the average for this season.

Actually, that's very average for the time of year (the average maxima for southern England in July is 22-23c) and the CET is currently running at 0.4c above average.

Current synoptics ought really be giving us much cooler conditions. Mind, I'd rather this than what the rest of Europe has right now!

From what I ve seen it's raining in London and much of the country and the temperatures are below average.

The forecast says 19 degrees Celsius in London on Friday the 14th of July.

If you take a look at the forecast the temperature next week will be around 21 to 22 degrees Celsius. You ve got a cool weather in the middle of summer.

Speaking of South Europe, they always have 40 degrees heatwaves in the middle of the summer. Nothing new is happening.

Sweden did a fine job btw.

Pretty normal weather for the British Isles. We do not normally get 30+ heatwaves ....

Speaking of South Europe, they always have 40 degrees heatwaves in the middle of the summer. Nothing new is happening.

They don't get heatwaves like this every year. Nor does the USA or China. All at the same time ....

Sweden did a fine job btw.

Maybe, but it had no more to do with not believing in AGW than it did with concerns about the size of whelks in Mauritania.

True.

They have a cool summer and some of their papers and media say this has been one of the hottest summers. Blatant lie! Just look at the temperatures.

I don't think think 19 or 20 celcius is normal for London in the middle of the summer. It's below average.

South Europe gets heatwaves almost every year. 40 degrees isn't something new.

Your media said you had excessive heat but we all know this is a bogus claim.

I am not in the UK but have checked the weather forecast and it's pretty cool and gas been cool for most of the summer. If media argue this heat is extreme you must have to challenge their nonsense.

I am in the UK. June was our hottest on record.

July, in contrast, is pretty average. But not as cool as we'd expect given the synoptics. This may in part be due to the abnormally high sea surface temperatures (highest ever recorded).

Yes.

How often do you think below average temps occur? Think about it

I doubt June was that hot. It's mainly bogus claims pushed by the media. It seems to me you ve got a pretty cool summer.

I am 100% certain it was that hot - I was here and monitoring the temps across the country. And it wasn't the media making the claims, it was us meteorologists.

It was also, incidentally, the warmest June as measured by the weather station in my garden, albeit records for that only go back to 2003.

I have no doubt that the record temperatures being recorded by meteorologists - both professional and amateur - in Canada, the USA, Europe, North Africa, SE Asia and China this summer are equally as accurate. As are the record rainfalls.

Just because you don't want to believe something is true, doesn't mean it's a lie

if AGW was a thing many places would already be under water by now according to so called expert predictions from 20+ years back. That’s why they changed it to climate change and extreme weather events, which at least there is a case for unlike AGW.

I am sure you do have a very cool summer from the temperatures I have seen so far on the previous days and during June.

In fact, everyone here who is from the UK agrees with it.

If you want to deny reality it's up to you.
