You'll be eating crow before this is all played out...

Judging by the standard of your previous predictions I'm happy to take that risk.

why are you all cheering? There is nothing to cheer about.
If somehow Putin is replaced, it will not be by anyone who will act in favor of Ukraine, Europe, US, Nato,... If Poetin is replaced things will escalate and get worse, for everyone!
Compared to some of the men who are waiting for his seat, Putin is the soft one!

so stop cheering Wagner on, nothing good will come out of this

Nothing good was ever going to come of any of it KindraLabelle2.

Better that they possibly destroy one another and fight amongst themselves than against Ukraine all the same.

So there is that.

It's not cheering per say, but simply hoping for the best.

Divide and conquer and all that jazz.

The aggressor in this conflict is fighting itself , that to me is something positive , I wish none of this was happening but as it is significant events like this are to be commented on , can't say I've seen much cheering TBH.

You have a good point, although I think that it's unlikely that Putin will be replaced. If he stays in place then so do his military goons, Shoigu (the shamanist lunatic who convinced Putin to bathe in deer blood) and Gerasimov (who is apparently a drunk), both of whom are useless.
HOWEVER - let's bear in mind that this Wagner business is probably causing extreme chaos around Rostov-on-Don, which is a key railhead and logistical base for the Russian Army in Ukraine, which we know to be existing on a logistical bit of string. The Russians in the Donbas region and probably going to start worrying very quickly about just what the hell is happening to their administrative services to their rear - you know, the ones with the food and the fuel and replacements and the ammunition.

I am not sure I would call a man that razed Chechnya, invaded Georgia and invaded Ukraine, soft. But you are correct in that if it ends up that Vlad the Failed gets overthrown, we have no idea who will be the replacement.

The only thing I would be happy about is if because of this and if it continues for any length of time, that the Russia leaves Ukraine and goes home to figure it's own yard out.

In the end, that's all I want. I could give two #s about internal the Russia problems until they become not internal the Russia problems, like Ukraine currently is.

So what is really going on through the fog of war? Firstly any talk of Putin wanting to nuke Ukraine is nuts. Putin may be a lot of things, but he ain't that stupid to risk a scorched Earth over this one.

Maybe there was some friendly fire incident, would not be the first time on the battlefield. Can understand some heated discussion if so trying to work out what the hell happened. Has Wagner been pushing too hard thinking taking Ukraine will end the war while Putin is considering NATO's next move should all of Ukraine fall.

So whatever caused this breakaway convoy heading back to Moscow, Russia now has a reinforced rear flank as the west is cheering it on. This event gives the impression that the Russian lines in Ukraine are now weakened, but are they really? Could it just be a ploy to draw out another offensive and hit with a counter strike, this time with more reserves in the rear.

As for this talk of a coup, I don't see enough public support to pull it off while Putin is still alive. As for how it plays out if he gets a real knife in the back, sounds messy for a while.

I think it's a little early to celebrate this. Remember when we took Saddam down, Iraq has been in chaos almost nonstop for the last 20 years.

Now imagine that with a country that has nuclear weapons. Do they all stay secure? Are they used in this apparent civil war?

This could lead to catastrophe.

And no, before any of you falsely cry that I'm defending Putin, I'm not. I'm just saying be careful what you wish for. I would like to see Putin overthrown as well, but in a safe manner that leads to more regional stability. That's a tall order. Real life doesn't always play out like your fantasies.

twitter.com...

In regards to CIA involvement i was only able to find this connection, quite the opposite, but again...it is the CIA oddly enough reported on yahoo sports....
Prigozhin believes CIA behind murder of Wagner Group fighter executed on camera

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder and head of the Wagner Group, has claimed that Yevgeny Nuzhin, a member of the Wagner Group, who was executed on camera, could have been "recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and imprisoned for 27 years beforehand in order to infiltrate the Wagner Group and create the conditions for his execution", before being killed by the US secret services.

Then i found this: ***Its an automatic download of an fbi poster, pics below...

Yevgeniy Viktorovich Prigozhin is wanted by the FBI for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to defraud the United States by impairing, obstructing, and defeating the lawful functions of the Federal Election Commission, the United States Department of Justice, and the United States Department of State. This occurred in Washington, D.C., from early 2014 to February 16, 2018. Prigozhin was the primary funder of the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency (IRA). He allegedly oversaw and approved their political and electoral interference operations in the United States which included the purchase of American computer server space, the creation of hundreds of fictitious online personas, and the use of stolen identities of persons from the United States. These actions were allegedly taken to reach significant numbers of Americans for the purposes of interfering with the United States political system, including the 2016 Presidential Election.
On February 16, 2018, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Yevgeniy Viktorovich Prigozhin in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia after he was charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States

As i write this i am listening to Al Jazeera. There is a woman speaking about about how Prigozhin is convicted criminal and should be removed from power. She was interrupted by the host to report, that there are new reports of regular Russian military entering Rostov.

Don't think that will ever happen though, maybe with the current events there will be a delay but eventually they will come for Ukraine

I would never categorize you as a Putin or the Russia supporter face. You've been staunchly in the "this all #ed up on both sides" since the start and try to parse things logically. I respect that even if we don't agree on some things. FTR, we tend to agree on a much more than we don't.

At the end of the day, depending on how this plays out, the best we could hope for is a sorta repeat of '91. Things got very messy but no one used nukes in any capacity other than a bargaining chip, like Ukraine.

If it is long enough for Ukraine to resupply, train and fortify against that happening so be it. I hold no illusions. I know the Russia will not stop at this attempt at Ukraine if they fail this time and this point that isn't a guarantee, war is funny like that.

but eventually they will come for Ukraine

Zelensky has been saying this since at least last spring.

there are many in russia who oppose ol farty and the ones that follow him, and their not all war monger egomaniacs.
this could possibly cause russia to be in a long drawn out civil war if more groups start using the cover of wagners attack. ol farty and his goons can't fight everybody. and focus on a war in another country at the same time.

russia does it's best to stifle news of militant groups that use terror attacks against them, but you do hear about them from time to time and not all of them are false flags, or Ukraine.

sad thing though, ever since the founding of the principality of moscow, it has been led by one sob or bitty bitch egomaniacs, who always try and dominate all those around them. so you may wind up being right.

Latvia has closed its border with Russia , Estonia is strengthening its border security.

Latvia - which saw an influx of Russians fleeing when the war in Ukraine began last year - has sealed its border with Russia. In a tweet, the Foreign Minister said entry for anyone leaving "due to current events" would not be considered for entry.

Estonia too has said it is beefing up security along its border, with Prime Minister Kaja Kallas adding that she was in “close touch” with her Latvian, Lithuanian and Finnish counterparts.
