Hear hear, I'm all behind this. 9 year old granddaughter has been shooting for a couple years now. She took her first deer last year with an AR15 in 6.5 Grendel.

And she knows that

when your knee recovers, read the thread, not just the OP.
eta:
And I sure hope you are equally as passionate about restricting kids ability to jump onto the "trans" fad bandwagon. For much the same reasons.

The Grendel round impresses the hell out of me. Sadly it appears it did for others as well. Finding any is difficult, and once found, affording it brings the second challenge. Built a 300 blackout after checking the specs on both and realizing my hunting situation. Just in case the scarcity remains.

Tell her a total stranger said congrats on the deer. I got a 4 pointer last season with the 6.5 grendel. Almost 300 yards and put it right where I aimed/wanted. Since I'm not that good, it surprised me.

That's a gas gun ... take out your eye nevertheless.

There absolutely should be an age-limit: 16 I'd say.

Not at all the same as he stated..."should be able to own"....kids....aren't legal adults. Parents? Home and field training for your kids? Absolutely. And necessary. Yearly hunting deer or whatever..of course. The earlier they learn the better.

But "should be able to own"? You can't legally "own" anything unless your an adult...at whatever age. Did you buy little Jimmy n Jeanie a gun to call "theirs"? Not quite the same as a child, rt?

Michigan current mass shooting...mom n dad bought the teen "his new gun"...left it out, he went the school and killed classmates.

"To own"...are just misnomers...you hv to be legal in all states ..to purchase, own firearms...

Peace

Yeah let's give them alcohol while we're at it!

Keys to the car too! Why not?

But why stop there? Just give them access to porn, medical decisions, voting, etc...

Heck, once you are born you should just be considered an adult!

Yea, I get it. I think that if you make the decision to join the military, you should have all the rights at that time, you signed up knowing you could be giving your life. But I don't think there is an age limit for dying in a war. Most wars are indiscriminate killers, and most/all wars are stupid and only destroy. Once enough destruction has happened, suddenly diplomacy sound like a valid choice.

it's ok. Not everyone is of the "thinking" mindset. Some just react. But ask around, phone a friend, you may learn something.

Well...that's another thing N.D. In ER meds I've never seen a kid who lost an arm cause he was holding it out the car window...but I've seen a few shoot themselves w a semi auto...that's all.

Yeah, give them killing tools. So when they do something wrong or stupid, you tell them off and they spit the dummy out and ,Whoops< no mummy or daddy. And If you haven't seen a kid throwing a real tantrum them you live in a cocoon.

Military age males in Iraq (7 years old) are allowed to have fully automatic AK47s. I wish that was allowed here in the USA

something we all need to face is the fact that every kid in the country has already been affected in one form or another by both gun violence and sexual predation

Some kids are afraid to go to school in fear they will be killed....I know it's unreasonable but still....
