Having said that, I have no idea if the younger gens will prove to be much better

Yeah...sorry about that. I was busy working my ass off to help build a country for a bunch of ungrateful little sh**s.
Really? Because from younger peoples perspective, all boomers did was send all our jobs to China and give China a huge economic advantage they are now using and will use to dominate the global economy and replace the US dollar as global reserve currency. But ok boomer. You're the best!

In general lot of people in this thread that have obviously never lived anywhere other than the area they grew up in. The US is huge entirely different dynamics in different locations in the US.
Get out see the nation, get out see the world expand your horizons rather than sit at home and complain about boomers.
I am a gen x imitate us find your own path and happiness in the world dont wait for the govt to tell you what should make you happy.
Been around the world thanks to the military. Still got about 15 years left. Had to join at 18 because there were no economic opportunities left in America since the boomers sent all our jobs to China.
There is a significant shortage of skilled tradespeople. In fact, the industry as a whole is expected to grow 10 percent by 2028, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Additionally, demand has been greatly outpacing the supply in the United States6, with no signs of slowing down. It’s estimated that more than 3 million skilled trades jobs will remain open by 2028.

I think they are alluding to idea of assassination, or in the case of someone like myself "suicide" or "missing"
I should note now that I am of sound mind (subjective?) and in no way suicidal!
Oh, gotcha. It is a possibility. It's also a possibility that some racist f#ck assassinated JFK for fighting for the blacks.

Well dang, can’t even keep our moans & groans and victims and tales separated these days, they just all run together. From boomers to old politicians to racists, oh my.
If you want to do better than build the modern economy and society and defend it in a few major wars, like the boomers did, you’re gonna have to do more than maintain a book of 1001 complaints and accusations.

to be fair, its not his fault that he was subject to the failed education policies of George Bush Jr.'s "no child left behind" act.
Remember the hanging chads!!
I would actually go so far to argue that these failed policies were the seeds of what we are seeing across the country now in newer, controversial educational laws
No child allowed to excel

Did people oppose the civil rights act because they weren't racist?

I'm a millennial.
We're more responsible than the Boomers. I'd say we're neck and neck with Gen X for most responsibility for the current dilapidation.
Blaming the Boomers is just trendy. Your thoughts being as "deep" as a bumper sticker don't bode well for your generation. You may do more damage than we did, you just haven't had a chance yet.

I'd like to see all of that as well, but I don't see how you'll do it without amending the Constitution.

Heard 2 great catch-all ideas this weekend -
1. Only allow the Sens and Reps in DC for a couple big meetings per year. Make them spend all their time at home among their people, away from the lobbyists and other rot.
2. Drastically expand the number of people in the House. A long time ago they used to represent about 30 K citizens, now it’s something like 750 K. Having less people to serve will force them to keep some promises and actually meet the people.
