Immigrants, or illegal alien's?

At the federal, state, and local levels, taxpayers shell out approximately $134.9 billion to cover the costs incurred by the presence of more than 12.5 million illegal aliens and about 4.2 million citizen children of illegal aliens. That amounts to a tax burden of approximately $8,075 per illegal alien family member and a total of almost $116 Billion.

Check it

Once you kick out Illegals and wages people can make a living off lower skilled jobs.

Lower skilled jobs would cost more if you didn't have illegal labor but other things would cost less because they're passing the cost on to the illegals' communities.

Medical insurance would no longer have to charge to cover emergency room health care by the uninsured, for example.

Police and fire department response times would improve because every user would be paying in.

Crime and malcontention would go down. What if the inner city were working instead of conquering city centers and burning others down?

Plus if we keep taking the developing world's poorest, they'll just keep coming.

Let me know when they legislation get passed since it has nothing to do with the topic.
Of course it's got a lot to do with the topic.

The potential that they will skew the political landscape to the left is definitely a cost of having them.

Come to Miami and see if you can find ONE left leaning immigrant. You WONT, they HATE communism. Many of them have lived in totalitarian countries and its why they come here in the first place. I am sorry but I don't think that argument holds water. You might find some workers that lean left because they want better working conditions and pay, but most of the immigrants I have met dream of owning a business and living the American dream.

Could you know more than a tiny sliver of Communism-fleeing Cubans? Probably closer to the top of their socioeconomic scale?

Could you think they were representative of the entire developing world?

Many other migrants are fleeing poverty.

Fascism usually appeals most strongly to the poorest members of society.

It's important to reduce the European population in the US because they are the ones who are most adhere to the principles of the Nation's founding and are most closely tied to principles of Western Civilization. They deserve to be reduced because they lack any sense of cultural or racial cohesion and because of their genocidal past.

Hispanics on the other hand have very strong cultural cohesion which is why Spanish is replacing English in some Texas public schools and why the Anglo/European population is being reduced to 2nd class citizen status. Demographics is destiny and it is less the case the Anglo's are being replaced than it is the case that they are dying out.

And many of those fleeing poverty just happen to be fleeing socialist and communist utopia's.

But yea sure there is a nickles worth of difference between fleeing poverty and fleeing communisim/socialism.

Are you seriously saying they won't move the country to the left?

Can you name one Sanctuary City which has a Republican mayor or a low crime or poverty rate?

Some of them are fleeing political, ideological and religious repression as well as the forced collectivization of their work.

Communism isn't imposed by some external force (though it can be aided and abetted by other countries.)

Are you really saying the hugely catholic population to our south are all going to always vote hard core leftist?

look at florida as the clearest example, grew up in that state and once upon a time a republican winning 60% of the vote for governor was a pipe dream. Trump won it twice, that doesnt happen without winning in the Latino districts as well.

Many of those immigrants are fairly hardcore catholics, people the current administration is looking to persecute given half a chance.

Catholics that typically have big families and dislike the abortion thing, and are appalled by the fact some are pushing for abortion up to the point of birth.

They may vote left for a short time then they will run away from it.

Florida Republicans Admit They Made a Big Mistake With Anti-Immigrant Law Republicans are trying to convince immigrants that the law was just to “scare” people, nothing more.

“This bill is 100 percent supposed to scare you,” said Roth. “I’m a farmer, and the farmers are mad as hell. We are losing employees. They’re already starting to move to Georgia and other states. It’s urgent that you talk to all your people and convince them that you have resources, state representatives, and other people that can explain the bill to you,” he added, essentially begging Florida’s labor force to not leave the state that cares little for them.

So what is next?

The illegal use of undocumented workers should be overlooked for the benefits of whom?

Is the next step ignoring child labor laws? Human trafficking?

Maybe if the farmers paid living wages, it may create an increase in the cost of food, but the cost to the community and State may make up the difference.

Overlooking the law to benefit the farmers, makes all laws forfeit. The system is broken. Not just this part, but the whole thing.

Now our state is trying to get 14 year to be allowed to do more jobs that were previously banned due to age.

Those laws have always been really stupid. Jobs requiring no/minimum skills should be open and available to young kids who want to work and whose parents want them to learn life skills.

No, I'm not in favor of forced child labor, but that is not what I'm talking about, and that is not what these stupid laws were ever about either.

Why don’t we go after people that hire illegal immigrants? We all know why…

I bet everyone of those farmers that are worried now that they don’t have enough employees have cried about immigration a million times. I have zero sympathy for the hypocrites.

Those that are the most disenfranchised and financially dependent, are the ones that are most often exploited.

Many farmers have dirty hands and are at the root of the problem.

Perhaps they are just harvesting what they sowed.

Money talks, and apparently money is WALKING.

It’s hilarious watching this play out. I guess two industries taking the biggest hit is farming and construction.
Like I mentioned before people like to think there aren’t that many illegals, but there is. They are the behind the scenes manual backbreaking labor in so many places.

We love love love their backbreaking work, as long as we don’t have to see it or hear about it. Let’s face it, the whole illegal alien thing has only been talk, but truly, Desantis has really been the only one to actually fix the faucet instead of the leak. The problem is too many were drinking from that faucet.

So c’mon conservatives and everyone against all forms of illegal immigrants, LINE your kids up, your elderly parents up, cuz I want my cheap strawberries! Get them picking! You know those illegals took your jobs, so there they are, march your kids right into those fields.

They should be teaching them to grow their own.

Many people can’t even afford cheap. They can’t afford a lot of the products they used to consume, so they better learn to grow their own, and barter.

The problem with cleaning up a mess is that it usually takes making a bigger mess before you can get everything back in order.

We got a huge mess to clean up in this country. Either way, we are going to feel the pain. Personally, I rather be the one that chooses how I am going to manage that pain. If I can.

I agree, and I do grow my own. I know a lot of people are going to feel the pain.

You know what is sad. Desantis is doing the right thing, (I’ll say that even though I don’t like him) and yet he is going to be lambasted on both sides. He already is. The dems hate him because he isn’t welcoming illegals with open arms, the republicans will hate him because of what this will do to business and agriculture.

I agree. This mess is not going to be fixed without all of us feeling the burn.

They should have stopped this mess a long time before.

I was told about 30 years ago by a guy that proudly admits to growing up in a family that were members of the KKK. He said then that Black people which he referred to as the "n" word, were going to be lo pushed out by the illegal immigrants and that they would take all of their field jobs, construction jobs, and landscaping jobs. He said that while he preferred the Blacks, using the other word of course, because at least they were Americans, but not all regular folk, which he was referring to White people, felt that way because, the illegal aliens were willing to work for nothing.

He said people that thought like that was short sighted and that it would come back and bite them in the ass.

As much as I hate to agree with him, he may have been right.
