I've posed this question to people before but have never received an answer so I pose this question to you in the spirit of conversation. Have you ever changed your mind because someone was yelling at your or calling you names? I haven't. That's what drove me completely away from Christianity and all religions. I'm kind of a paradox, lean right but still in the middle, I'm repelled by the left but also equally repelled by the religious right, Have you ever seen that episode of wife swap (or whatever that show is called) where they have the new age family switch with the crazy christian lady?? The family loved the new age chill vibe the mother brought to the uber religuous household and the pagan family was welcoming and even went to church with the uber christian lady. At the end of the show she starts yelling like she's demon possessed and her family is just looking at her in shock comparing and contrasting in their minds.

If I was a third person observer without any belief system i would definitely gravitate towards the loving calm energy rather than the screaming "you're going to hell"/

However, I admit, when it comes to children then I can understand how the passion comes out because that is really messed up to expose children to the lgbt BS.

Anyway "circling back" lol... have you ever changed your mind because someone was screaming at you? I guess I kind of did when someone was yelling "911 was an inside job purported by the globalists to bring in a New World Order".. but that was the only time it's ever worked on me and I was like 21 years old, I felt like something was seriously wrong and this one particular radio show host was resonating at the frequency I was feeling at the time. But it didn't last long until I moved along to something less "in your face" and more "higher vibration".

What do you think?

I think if yelling at people didn't change any minds Alex Jones wouldn't have made a dime.

So 5 people complained about the forum of which we will not mention by name and the reaction was to cancel it? Everyone is aware of what they were getting into in that particular place but authoritative powers shut down for being exactly what it was designed to be. Your upset because people complained that they place they like go was going away and you didn't want to hear about anymore, so stay out of the mud pit it's not for the faint of hart. Just my 2 cents it's your site, your world i'm sure next week something else will be in the spot light.

I am a new member, and I really like this forum.

A forum like this has never been more needed than now in this time and age.

It was kind of redundant as of posting board really. We had/have those election boards, a board for breaking political news, another one for political madness, and even 5 whole boards in the Political Forum to post in.

The Mud-Pit really didn't foster anything that wasn't already covered by a different board or forum.

Except for the "political trolling and baiting" being "Legal" and posts not removed for calling politicians rough-shod names. 😀

If you know who the "paid operatives" are then why not post their user names here for everyone to see? There is no personal information associated with their username so why not clue in everyone so we are aware of them?

In otherwords, develop some netiquette.

So many personal attacks and insults seen this morning.

Fairly adjudicated standards applied across the board? I think not.

Here's the rub, there's a certain side that will report ad nauseum when the other side hurts their feelings. Then there's a side that holds firm to "free speech" ideals and would rather take the personal body blows than stifle the offenders "free speech".

What you end up with is lopsided reporting system with one side being stifled because of whiny b1tches on the other.

I'm just dropping by to express my delighted surprise that the Mud Pit has been closed. It seems to me that was a favorite to many members, considering it was the most used forum. It wasn't the topics that I found so unsuitable to recommend the site to other people who might benefit from the information and discussion, rather it was the every-thread bickering and politically charged rudeness. Every year the Mud Pit was alive, ATS got worse at manners, spilling over into the other threads. I believe a lot of older(time registered, not elderly)) members have left because of this.

I get why the Mud Pit was created. ATS was probably easier to moderate for a time while the political party shills used buzzwords derogatorily at each other. The price was too steep. Posts are painfully lacking in substance, and rational discussion is reduced to, "you're a shill. no you're a shill. post a source, then. i posted sources in my other threads, etc."

I understand that there are better ways, to call someone out on their BS, being direct saves a lot of time though.
Sad part is, it causes more problems for the mods..

On a side note:

It's very simple.

1. Don't be rude
2. Don't incite violence
3. Don't hateful or bigoted
4. Don't represent yourself or ATS as such
5. Do not attack the website , members, or ATS Staff
.....
you're either a troll, a paid operative, or a fool

I recently found out you should receive 2 warnings and be docked 1000 points for a comment like this, outside of the Mud Pit.
I won't report it though.

There's another side.

The side that hates all the ego-boosting tirades and screeds and personal attacks that derail and clutter up the threads, but we don't report -- even when those attacks are targeting us -- because we don't give a rat's patootie what the anonymous keyboard warriors think of us. They're more like pesky flies -- mostly harmless, but such a pain in the arse.

All the while keeping in mind that freedom of anything includes the choice to say "no." And knowing that each and every person who signed up for ATS agreed not to engage in that kind of hateful and hurtful dialogue by choice. But for some reason, those of us who want to exercise that right to say "no" to divisive and disruptive dialogue -- AS AGREED TO IN THE T&Cs -- are being bullied and brow-beaten by those who refuse to live up to the terms they agreed to.

I was okay with having the Mud Pit viewable to only signed-in members, and not to the public at large.

I'm not okay with those who continue to bully and browbeat anyone for standing up for the rules we all agreed to abide by. I am intensely reminded that the same people trying to fundamentally transform ATS are playing by the same tactics as those who want to fundamentally transform our Republic.

Agreed. I received 2 warnings with 1000 point deduction each for 1 single post a while back. I don't even remember what it was anymore but I don't think it too bad.

I have never reported anyone in my time here and probably won't ever.
