That's what happens when our frequency is messed with en-masse on a global level since it was possible ages ago.

People get sensitive because of insecurities and the normal behaviour gets skewed into a higher frequency which is hard for most people to adjust to without complications.

Overcompensation has created the things you list maybe but the push seems to continue because it is natural.

How do we get people to leave their negative energy at the door when sometimes it brings them here in the first place?

I see it a little differently.
People that are easily offended haven't had much adversity in their lives.
They haven't ever had any real big problems.
They are offended because their lives suck and they take everything for granted.
Just my opinion though.

Have you met this new woke crowd?
These folks work at making reality subjective.
They read regular articles or just feel a certain way and tell you it's facts and MUST be recognized.

Yes, it's hard helping those who cannot imagine what they have to overcome.

It's very simple.

1. Don't be rude
2. Don't incite violence
3. Don't hateful or bigoted
4. Don't represent yourself or ATS as such
5. Do not attack the website , members, or ATS Staff

I feel that these are not being upheld, defined, presented or even intended truly properly. This place was never perfect, because we can't any of us be perfect individually and therefore shan't ever be so, as a collective.

I feel two problems have aflicted ATS simultaneously, 1. The membership used to "know" and "trust" the ownership and management. They no longer do. 2. The larger the group, the greater the mental degradation, particularly when dealing in strictly moral concerns, which, of course, have no place on a conspiracy forum anyway.

At any rate, you're never going to get anywhere if this is the kind of post we're receiving from admin.

But I still come here twice a day...

Every person is a little bit (at least) stupid on some level, therefore any large group of people represents a large amount of stupidity in general.

With ATS it all started 'round about 2010. With Facebook and suchlike. The tribes seemed to coalesce and become more virulent. The stupid found its like. Yea!

I recall a certain "experiment" in Breaking News, started by one of the Amigos. About tweets concerning the death of Putin, years ago. The Kremlin was burning and all kinds of crap, Breaking News based on tweets. Nothing more. Because an owner declared it so, nothing more. Standards be damned, we need clicks!

Seems fair enough.

One thing stood out for me in the OP that I don't think is properly addressed:
It was mentioned that the mods have to deal with many complaints every day.
I feel that the complaint system can be abused and those that use it for reasons that are not valid - i.e. more a personal vendetta - should be warned to ensure it is used legitimately.

I've been thinking along these lines as well and I think there's a lot of truth in this.

For example, I come from a big family. There just aren't many names anyone can call me that I haven't been called before... by people that actually are important to me. I've heard it all. It's not fun or pleasant, but not earth shattering. More like "oh well."

They haven't ever had any real big problems.

Again, yes. When you've faced genuine crises, the life-threatening and life-altering stuff that shocks your conscience, your perspective grows and broadens. You learn not to sweat the small stuff, and to choose your battles carefully.

Some lessons, the most valuable lessons, can only be learned by living and gaining a greater perspective on life.

I've been coming to ATS since 2006. I've seen how it has changed, especially in the last few years. I never even thought about the report button until 2022. If someone violates ATS T&C, that's one thing, but if someone violates the most basic 21st century common decency so many times that I encounter it in my short visits, yes I'm going to report it.

Changing the mood is the point.
