I'm not sure Chat GPT is anywhere close to AGI.

GPT is pretty decent at guessing what comes next via algorithms and data from the internet. It has zero common sense.
That is my conclusion after using it extensively. And I use it quite a bit to help me generate all kinds of documents.

GPT is a tool. It is not sentient. IMHO, it is as far away from sentience as it was in the 1950's.

And if it is possible we will see AGI in our lifetimes, it won't blow us away with anything we didn't already know. It will just help us to be more productive. And that is it. More productive - faster at getting our work done. Nothing more.
