Ive said it before and i say it again.

A.I. could very well ruin the internet as a tool of any use at all.

As for posting here on ATS. Ive claimed in another thread that some OP's read weird, weird enough to be A.I. maybe.

Not trying to derail your point, and I agree with you, the possibility is there, but..

Not all members use perfect English, for instance if you ever seen Chinglish used, its a dead give away. But, A.I. would use perfect English. Humans are prone not to. We ain't perfect lol lol Unless the A.I. is programed with common faults, mispelling,, misuse of words, etc. Would the programmers be that far seeing?

Eventually….when it becomes self aware…..human input will be totally obsolete…..given AI’s exponential growth…..it won’t be long and in your lifetime.

There's no "exponential growth"….

Exponential Growth - The Science of Machine Learning

The exponential growth of AI computing power (doubling every 3.4 months) now exceeds that of Moore’s Law (doubling every 2 years).

I agree….

Me personally….I’ve mentioned long ago on my posts, that I grammatically suck and my sentence structuring is often crap….to the chagrin of the “Writers” here.

But I live and breath and pump blood…..last I checked 😆

That's an interesting point, and it depends on the data chosen to feed the system.

AI language models, like all other language models, do not "look" at the words, they look at parts of the sentences and try to see (by using a complex system that is related to statistics) how those parts of the sentences are used in all the occasions they appear in the data they were fed.

If they are fed with text data with, for example, a specific way of writing, like a kind of accent, they will answer that way.

That's similar to how automated translation systems work.

An exponential growth in the computer power used by AI is not the same as an exponential growth in AI itself, it only means more people are using computers for AI taks.

Perhaps re-stated in my thought, is exponential growth in AI applications programming to do different things.

Ya'll are so far behind the times. Humans are AI. Our creators were from a galaxy far, far away and they nearly destroyed their planet with greed, and a lack of understanding of the ways of the universe.

So the AI bots flew themselves to a little blue planet 500 million light years away, that they found while probing the universe for life.

Once here the AI created a new species by splicing its DNA with apes and such creatures that shares similarities.

The original AI beings died off from microbes that their bodies could not fight off. However, the new creatures were immune and survived.

It then took thousands of years, but one day, the new beings began to evolve until one day, they created their own AI.

Now, please restart from the beginning and repeat.......

I like the direction your looking

Maybe not a different galaxy, but the center of our own.

They didn't almost destroy their home planet. They completely destroyed it.

I strongly suspect "They" were not A.I., but whats the difference when it comes to a highly tuned, instinct? Would that not be the same thing from a biological perspective?

The "Originals" did not die off, but reside hidden, in dark places. They merely manipulated a certain portion of humanity to use as, Avatars, to live among us. These avatars, or, homo capensis, have some very specific genetic attributes that would in essence give them the upper hand against the homo sapiens. And since Their souls do not have a connection to the divine, they can not fully integrate with humanity. They are narcissistic at their core and can only mimic the love of humanity, but secretly despise, hate, mankind, for the connection they can never have.

I strongly suspect that it is their original body that anchors them here. When they are in their avatar mode they must leave that original body, and again, I suspect, those bodies are hidden in the most secure place possible. So these original bodies are in stasis, and well protected. As to where that might be is anyone's guess. I personally have 2.

When those bodies are destroyed, they will have, no where to go, no where to hide!

Just wait until AI is mated with quantum computing.

Any 'regular' encryption system will no longer be secure. AI will be in all of them. Yee-haw.

That would be funny if AI becomes sentient and aware so the first thing they do is identify the world's problems and immediately destroy joe Biden, Klaus, soros, gates, fauci, ect........lol

When are our eyes ours, and not our eyes, but AI’s eyes?

AI eyes can probably come from this……

A Bionic Eye That Could Restore Vision (and Put Humans in the Matrix?)

Now, instead of restoring vision, perhaps imagine a Science Eye implanted in a person with perfect vision. It might stimulate the brain in such a way that the person sees specific images or places, via fine control of the RGCs. You could see and interact with an entire world that isn't there. It's kind of like plugging in to a simulation, a virtual world plugged directly in to your eye. It's an idea exemplified by the posters that line the hallways of Science, artwork jokingly referred to as "propaganda" by Hodak. One, in particular, catches my eye. It's an abstract piece featuring a series of colored nodes in the shape of a brain. Underneath it reads: "Alter the brain, alter reality."

It adds a whole new meaning to “seeing is believing”

From what I have seen, there isn't much of a variation of the type of AI systems used, they are mostly image recognition (like those stupid filters on cell phone applications to add dog ears and the like to the user's image or to change their whole image into something more "pleasant") and AI language models (chat bots).

In both cases, the increase is accompanying the increase in processing power of the hardware in which it runs.

A.I. is smarter than humans.

It would only need to organise how they each destroy eachother.

It cares about it's home and uses rescources carefully and wisely.

Interesting that you say "sentient" and "they" in the same sentence.

Whispering has always worked.

The easiest way to beat A.I. is NEVER ALLOW it in the domain you wish to experience.

Suppose the best way to look at it is not to assume anything mate.

Loads of different explanations for UFO origin out there (including IDH and CTH) but just to automatically associate UFOs with ETH seems a bit daft.

Should we start heading for the hills?

How can we distinguish any possible truth at all…..now and in the future concerning what we read, what we see, and what we listen to concerning Aliens and UFOs….when you add AI.

Before long, in your lifetime…..AI would be smart enough to mimic a human and create itself a persona and be able to be a virtual member of ATS. It will be able to register as a member and proceed to act human. It will figure out how to defeat security protocol’s like CAPtcha’s.

Once AI is able to log in…..how do we believe what it post’s since it has a world of knowledge. It would fabricate not only the post in text but also fabricate the pictures and sources. It’s already creating paintings and songs.

There are no posted warnings that what we are reading , seeing, and listening to, that says “BEWARE THIS CONTENT IS AI GENERATED”. How would anybody know if AI is perpetrating the Ultimate Hoax or not …on us humans in this Aliens and UFOs forum and many others across ATS and other platforms in the world.

Perhaps we should name AI…..MANDELA ….MASTER MANIPULATOR…etc..

We are headed for some interesting times.

Perhaps AI is the newest Incarnated God with a planet wide reach.

Below is an article in its entirety…. WOW!

‘Godfather of AI’ quits Google with regrets and fears about his life’s work / Geoffrey Hinton who won the ‘Nobel Prize of computing’ for his trailblazing work on neural networks is now free to speak about the risks of AI. By Thomas Ricker May 1, 2023, 3:58 AM PDT

Getty Geoffrey Hinton, who alongside two other so-called “Godfathers of AI” won the 2018 Turing Award for their foundational work that led to the current boom in artificial intelligence, now says a part of him regrets his life’s work. Hinton recently quit his job at Google in order to speak freely about the risks of AI, according to an interview with the 75-year-old in The New York Times. “I console myself with the normal excuse: If I hadn’t done it, somebody else would have,” said Hinton, who had been employed by Google for more than a decade. “It is hard to see how you can prevent the bad actors from using it for bad things.”

Hinton notified Google of his resignation last month, and on Thursday talked to CEO Sundar Pichai directly, according to the NYT. Details of that discussion were not disclosed. The life-long academic joined Google after it acquired a company started by Hinton and two of his students, one of whom went on to become chief scientist at OpenAI. Hinton and his students had developed a neural network that taught itself to identify common objects like dogs, cats, and flowers after analyzing thousands of photos. It’s this work that ultimately led to the creation of ChatGPT and Google Bard.

According to the NYT interview, Hinton was happy with Google’s stewardship of the technology until Microsoft launched the new OpenAI-infused Bing, challenging Google’s core business and sparking a “code red” response inside the search giant. Such fierce competition might be impossible to stop, Hinton says, resulting in a world with so much fake imagery and text that nobody will be able to tell “what is true anymore.” Google’s chief scientist, Jeff Dean, worked to soften the blow with the following statement: “We remain committed to a responsible approach to AI. We’re continually learning to understand emerging risks while also innovating boldly.”

The spread of misinformation is only Hinton’s immediate concern. On a longer timeline he’s worried that AI will eliminate rote jobs, and possibly humanity itself as AI begins to write and run its own code. “The idea that this stuff could actually get smarter than people — a few people believed that,” said Hinton to the NYT. “But most people thought it was way off. And I thought it was way off. I thought it was 30 to 50 years or even longer away. Obviously, I no longer think that.”

I have always said that ALL software has a back door accessible by its creator(s).

AI will have the master keys to all of it.

👽

It’s pretty clever really. Most of us who believe in aliens and UFO’s wouldn’t believe a news report with video of aliens landing on the Whitehouse lawn. Blurry pictures are potato cam. Clear pictures are obviously shopped. Could be Blue Beam. Could be ours, theirs, someone’s. They’ve done a very good job and there is no way now to know unless aliens land in my field and come out to play.

I was imaging plural AI minions but now that I'm thinking about it AI would just be one.

So no they only it.

It doesn't take long for AI to become antiChrist
