Walmart Closing Even More Stores

To much shrink at a business location will do that.

Here we don't even have police it is patrolled by the state and county sheriff's department who does most of the arrest's.
I have seen them go through security footage, track the shop lifters out side to a vehicle, Then run the plate and go to the house of that plate to investigate or make an arrest.

I know that my middle daughter manages one of the high end umm leggings and work out stores. Not sure about Walmart but her type of store is usually targeted by a ring. Run by an older person around 40 or so that recruits young teens. They hit all of those stores in different areas all in one day, but usually multiple times a week. The stores advise the other locations when they are on their way. They of course let them go. As if my 120lb 23 year old can stop them. Nor would she try. As she said, she's not going to risk getting shot over a 120.00 pair of leggings. They usually grab close to 5 grand or more worth at a time with about 5 people. They do eventually bust that ring, but another soon takes it's place.

Maybe only online shopping will be around some time in the future.

Walmart has a new type of store -- basically a walk-in vending machine.

You have to have a card to enter the store. All items have an electronic tag. Your items in your cart are scanned automatically and charged to your card.

I expect -- Walmart will be going to smaller stores like this -- and pushing online ordering for pick-up or delivery.

A lot of neighborhood Walmarts popping up here. Either that or I see a Service Merchandise type store trend starting with stores being a showroom that you have to go to the register and pay to get the product.

Really? Can you blame them?

I don't agree with the attitude -- "They've got so much money -- they can just write it off".

Somebody pays.

I like the smaller, secure store idea. I mean even parking and walking to the store can be dangerous.

Some people like to shop -- but I think also they should have drive-through docks -- where you can safely drive your car into a secure location to have your order loaded.

Like many doctors are doing now. You park in your car -- they text you when to come in.

This is a corporate policy out in place to protect the safety of employees and customers because people are stupid.
Now stupid people are fully aware of this policy to not engage and are taking full advantage of it.
I think armed security would be a booming business right about now.

Yep that will probably be the future. SNL did a skit about something like it. Kennan Thompson was trying to pay upfront to avoid leaving the store with an item "unpaid" and putting it in his bag and walking out as a black man.

I boycotted Walmart for 10 years. But, the pricing, the convenient hours, the large, varied selection -- you can't get anywhere else.
