This was foolhardy as all hell if I am right. We cannot withstand a full-on Russian assault. We might win, but the cost would be enormous. If we keep using Ukraine to poke that bear, it WILL lead to a full-on Russian assault on the USA (and probably the UK)

Putin can't even take Ukraine, so have no fears about him taking any other country.

People keep bigging this idiot up.

"Whatever your views on Wagner is, they are a small group that’s taking towns and cities against the backing of a collective group of countries (NATO)."

I think you mean taking towns that have been reduced to rubble that are essentially useless to anyone now.

If Russia cannot successfully take on Ukraine can you seriously contemplate it doing a "full-on" assault against the USA and/or the UK?

With what?

And logistically, how?

Then there is the little problem for them of NATO?

I really don't think so.

They'll obviously walk to the UK via the Chunnel since they don't really have a serious amphibious task force. You better pray that the Poles, Germans, the Low Countries and the French do something before they reach Folkestone, otherwise the Russians my bleed on you.

Any idea which group is responsible?

The same group that blew up Daria Dugina took credit, the National Republican Army.

ALSO...we had a guy on ATS who said he was a Russian writer/blogger.
I remember him from some threads.
He sort of vanished a while back.

He was conscripted and, sadly, most likely dead at this point since he isn't posting.

No. They will probably pay the people smugglers and cram their conscripts into their flimsy sinky inflatable boats and then let them drown mid Channel. Should any actually make it as far as Folkestone, the local Chavs would just stab them or kick their heads in. Or both.

Don't be silly.

They would still be stuck at French passport control.

Of course. Or if they did make it, they would have to contend with horrendous traffic jams on the M20..

I think there is speculation he has something to do with Wagner IAMTAT.

As to the actual group responsible for the device exploding.

That remains to be established.

When the suspect was questioned as to who gave her the figurine to deliver she said "Can i answer that later" which i found rather weird unless it was scripted, as that's not really how Police interrogations go.

I remember the guy you mean "RT" or rather "RussianTroll", i don't think it's him, certainly hope that's not the case.

I can't see how Russia could possibly assault the USA or invade, they simply don't have the equipment to do so, with anything other than ICBM or cruise missiles which would lead to an immediate response and third world war.

Same with the UK where our nuclear subs, and other NATO subs, including your own, would destroy any invasion fleet, or mass of troops, long before they got anywhere near the island. Not that Russia has such a fleet, or the resources to mount such an attack other than with again ICBM or cruise missile attack which would result in us firing back and the ensuing third world war.

No, actually, people keep smalling him down. I'm more like a lone voice in the wilderness on this one.

The easiest way to lose is to underestimate one's opponent. But no worries; that lesson will be retaught soon enough.

Glad I like vodka.

Great.

Any chance you might reply to the logistical problems that Russia might face mounting a a full on assault against the USA and or the UK?

Like, NATO?

Russia great 10 year expedition into Afghanistan.

How did that one go ?

Badly. Russia underestimated Afghanistan.

I'm thinking they probably underestimated Ukraine because they didn't expect the US/NATO to get so deeply involved. I doubt they will underestimate us. Experience makes a great teacher.

Russia have been on an 8 year expedition into Syria. How is that one going ?

We see a lot of themes lately.

For one, you have some here with complete blinders on about an army who’s armed by a collective group of countries (NATO), that can't handle a “ill equipped and poorly trained” mercenary group (Wagner) from taking towns and cities.

Which a flag was raised in the center of Bakhmut a few days ago dedicated to the Russian blogger that’s mentioned in this thread.

Hearing for months “Russia is out of missiles”

Yet, you have Zelensky popping his head up like a gopher every week about another strike hit and asking for more billions.

Zelensky asking for the 2nd time now to appear at the Oscars. Only to get denied, and have a Donkey be allowed on stage instead.

Russia is not at odds with Syria. Syria is the new Mediterranean port of Iranian/Russian oil. They're there to protect their interest from the USA.

That's why the terrorist groups fought so hard for Iraq. Iraq is between Iran and Syria.

Do you mean like Wagner, an army, more like a troop of mercenaries and criminals that is comprised of thieves rapists and murderers who have yet to take Bakhmut in its entirety after all these months?

Where the majority of its troops have been flung against Ukrainian forces as nothing more than cannon fodder to be slaughtered for the will of Vladimir Putin?

We are more than 400 Days into this war with no end in sight and Russia is nowhere near to achieving victory or the capitulation of the Ukrainian people.

As to Zelenskyy popping his head up, at least he is not hiding in the Kremlin or private residences all paranoid as feck hoping nobody close by is about to assassinate his arse, so there is that.

Freedom to Ukraine and down with Putin's land grab and invasion.

We are more than 400 Days into this war with no end in sight and Russia is nowhere near to achieving victory or the capitulation of the Ukrainian people.

And Ukraine is shrinking a little more every day, despite billions of dollars in aid and weaponry from the US and NATO. In the meantime, all those sanctions we placed on Russia are hurting us more than they hurt Russia. Their economy is growing; ours is collapsing.

The US and NATO are already fighting Russia using Ukraine as a poorly-disguised proxy. And we haven't defeated them in 400 days... we've consistently lost ground to them for 400 days.
