The satisfaction of seeing things play out like the simulations you’ve personally manifested is a bliss I can’t even compare to other things too.

It’s cathartic.

Edit: I also think it’s sometimes a source of the phenomenon deja vu.

I mean, it takes a certain measure of balls and brains to come to this site and post.

Maybe they are unsure if they typed or just thought it.

So you're like Col. John 'Hannibal' Smith but more lingual sophisticated.

Sorry, my inner voice told me to post that...

Well, you're a Troglodyte, soo.......

Innit amazing how often those two are misconstrued?

Explains a lot about the mindless drones i encounter on a daily basis.

Like you i always thought everyone had a voice in their head that they use to reason.

I wouldn’t say that, and ironically I almost made a thread about this last night, but I couldn’t work it out since it deals with two different “languages”.

But the part I can describe is that we have a misunderstanding about intelligence. While logic, reason, and communication certainly have their place, they’re in no way the end all be all.

Case and point is art, and I’ll focus on music first. Music has an incredible way of conveying emotion, thoughts, and certain things we can’t even put into words because it’s it’s own thing. It can transcend time and for a moment bring understanding to the past, present, and those we’re experiencing it with. It can be recorded and give us a glimpse into the mind of that who created it. It can be performed by someone else generations later and provide a different kind of connection, like orchestra, symphonies or opera.

While those who think in that manner may not perform the same as you an i with things like writing or conversation, they’re not less than, merely different.

They can wield power that moves society and culture.

I have a very outside of the box view on this... I really think many people are clones or akin to NPC's in real life. I think those of us with an inner voice are original souls if that makes any sense and that the people with no inner voice have been soul scrapped or something else entirely.

Crazy I know..

I was being facetious.

Some of my greatest insights are those which i seem to pull from the ether without thinking, nor can i describe or articulate those concepts.

Language is a boundary which places limitations on our creativity and understanding.

Talking to your self, sub-local conversation. Constant chit chat of symbols and images, talk of words inside our skulls.

If we do that all the time, we have nothing to left think about, other than thinking about thinking. Therefor we have to stop thinking to find out what life is about.

I guess you wrote about meditation

I don't think that the inner voices are our conscious ...

We 'hear' thoughts, some can 'see' thoughts, and others have thoughts without a auditory or visual presentation of them in their head. But they do have thoughts and a conscious.
Taking my own husband as an example again, I know he has a conscious, he feels guilt just the same as I do

Our inner voice can help us make more conscious decisions, but it's certainly not necessary to feel empathy or guilt. The best way I can describe my inner voice is that it's the same voice I hear when I'm reading a sentence in my head. It's just thinking with words, but maybe some people don't even hear a voice when they read so they might still have trouble understanding what I'm saying. I can also visualise things in my mind, if I close my eyes and concentrate hard enough I can imagine a very realistic 3D scene. I think most people have the ability to have those types of thoughts, it's just something that requires a little practise, and it you don't ever train those parts of your brain then you won't think using those parts of your brain.

This resonates with how I would describe it. It's not like hearing a voice but at the same time knowing it's my voice / me.

Can you visualize time in 3D space also?

I think, therefore I am. The think could be my voice, or it could be abstraction.

And while those who work things out in dialogue may see things in a more literal sense, it doesn’t mean their understanding can’t be deeper.

I think the sixteen personalities is an interesting thought experiment though I don’t necessarily subscribe to it. The premise is there’s four categories in which you lean towards one or the other.

Introvert vs extrovert
Sensing vs intuition
Thinking vs feeling
Judging vs perceiving

While some may be more matter of fact, and others go off of loose interpretations or trust emotion, at the end of the day it’s a scale. Most people have experiences in all the types, the premise is just that you lean towards one, maybe even heavily.

I think some of the people who understand the human condition the most have to illustrate that with abstraction like art. Even those who are more literal can pick up on those abstractions which shows that while they communicate differently, the efficacy isn’t in question.

It's when you embrace the chaos and attempt to think in 4d that drives me to the edge of reason.

I think the key is somewhere between the conscious and unconscious, when the minds eye for a brief moment attempts to peer beyond our senses.

It’s like if someone was born without or loses a sense, the others heighten to compensate. The blind can still perceive their immediate environment even though they can’t see it.

And even though I think language has a large impact on the way we think, like alphabet vs symbols… if you watch a movie with subtitles, you can often be gob-smacked that there are cultural similarities that manifest in the oddest ways like figures of speech or how we make sense of the world through analogies.

I think the way this is the most evident is cultural similarities back when the world wasn’t as connected as today. The way societies worshiped gods or even built structures.

Mine isn't always internal. Sometimes I outright talk to myself. It gets weird when I am so absorbed in my own thoughts that I forget where I am and bust out a dialogue in front of other people.

I'm prone to doing that whilst working.

In fact it's commonplace with people concentrating on their work.
