Ryan Mcbeth, president of the Azimuth, put out a pretty good analysis with the extremely limited evidence available so far, and I agree 100% with everything he said except the warhead size.

While he had a long career doing such analysis for the US military (I think he's actually currently working on a related PhD) and I barely qualify as an armchair quarterback, I think he got tripped by by the metric system as that doesn't look like the end result of 1000 lbs of high explosives in soft soil - I think it was less than half that size.

Which is exactly what we would say if it was Russian but we didn't have the balls to respond, so we say this to make ourselves not look like the complete bitches we are.

Not saying that's what happened, I'm just saying that's just as likely as it actually having been Ukrainian. It's not like our leaders have a great track record of telling us the truth.

I'm also stll unsure of the actual facts (though I lean heavily towards the McBeth analysis), and don't really care as long as nobody is escalating over it.

Nobody appears to be escalating over it.

Note: it would also be what those same 'leaders' would say if somewhat realistic 'negotiations' had already quietly begun, which I believe is the case.
